Embraced by an oasis of tropical vegetation in the beach town of Ixtapa,Pacifica Resort Ixtapa is an intimate and sophisticated retreat. Its contemporary Mediterranean architecture is graced with delicate Mexican touches, which celebrate the setting on the country's coveted Pacific Coast. Resort personnel were friendly and helpful during our entire stay. Restaurant choices were great. Loved the Italian restaurant Bougainvillea’s, as well as El Faro. Solarium and Moon bar was also nice choices. Tulipanes was our favorite go to for breakfast and occasional lunch & dinner. Our beach attendants were great bringing the drinks and appetizers to our palapas. Our suite was beautiful & clean per usual. On our first day we were met with lack of bath towels. That evening family members staying in the rooms were bitten by little lack bugs. The concierge / resort staff were notified and we were told they would send someone up to spray the room. After a couple of phone calls, someone finally showed up to our room with a can of bug spray. On the second day; the elevator went out of service. We were told by resort staff that a part had been ordered and would soon be repaired. Meanwhile, we are trekking up 4 flights of stairs. ( hubby with bilateral knee replacements, 3 elderly family members) Washer and dryer were also tagged out of service for the duration of our stay. Update on elevator: was Out of Service during our entire stay. There is ongoing construction, so be prepared to hear the jack hammering as your alarm. 8am. No previous notification. Also, if you are a resort member resort fees are now being charged. ( no prior notice until we checked in) Paying it is a non issue but when you have multiple issues with equipment out of service. . . Doesn’t make sense. We made the best out of our trip, as our family plans for our family reunion all year long and looks forward to it. Hopefully when we return next year, it will be the top Pacifica Resort we have known it to be and love❤️

Pacifica never disappoints! The people who work there are the friendliest people on earth, and the restaurants are excellent. We ate at every one, El Faro, Bugambilas, Moon Bar, Solarium, Tullipanes....never a bad meal. It was a wonderful treat being in Mexico again.

We have been members of Pacifica Ixtapa and Pacifica Grand for 8 years. We have found the facility to be clean and well kept, the staff to be exceptionally accommodating and the restaurants to serve delicious meals. The views of the ocean at Ixtapa an d the bay at Zihua (Grand) are spectacular. We will be back again and again.

Extremely disappointed. Periodic receipt of coffee and pastries each morning. I paid up front for inclusive and on several occasions at El Faro and Bugabilias restaurant was charged twice for same meals. Very disappointed! I need to be reimbursed.

Pacifica Resort Ixtapa Mx May 18-June 1, 2024 Much better than 2 years ago!! We had a nice stay at Pacifica in a Aqua Penthouse, though the unit we were given seemed smaller than other units we have had. Still a nice unit and a nice vacation. We did notice more limited foods on the buffets unless you went early. Overall the food was good at the buffet though. The waiters at El Faro & Bouganvillas Italian need more training for sure, some better than others. Food was very good at both. Jose at Aqua pool area was excellent and made our days fantastic. There is a new pool in this area also. The maid service was good but not practical in that they would open up the whole unit, thus allowing all stored cool air to go out and heat to go in. This caused more use of AC and also sweating on glass and wood doors also swelled. We actually had to have maintenance come as our entrance door swelled and the lock did not work. There was an added "tip" charge told to us by concierge that we were not informed of previous to our trip. It apparently is for those who do not get tips. Personally , we felt one should be told of this previous to arriving and is it guests responsibility to tip those folks or resorts issue to pay them properly.? We did dispute the charge as we were not sure it was legit, finding out later it was/is. We were not charged it and frankly do not think it should be guests responsibility. We had a great time but I must say the staff in general all seem quite unhappy, except very few. Not friendly and just not happy. Almost a debbie downer feeling! Wonder what is up with that when the majority are like this? Our concierge really did very little but another seemed to take over for him, thank goodness as we had a few minor issues. Despite it all, our stay was great, food was overall good. Our room despite being smaller was fine. The shuttle service was efficient, the gondola fun. Everything was clean and maintained and we look forward to returning. There was some construction going on but not near our area and no clue if it affected folks in that area. The weather was hot, hot, hot & humid. We actually are thinking of trying another month to visit next time. We will surely go back.
