We booked for the 2 hour ride. We were very concerned about all the smoke and breathing it in. We called more than 24 hours prior to our ride and expressed our concerns. We were told cancellation policy is 48 hours prior to ride (which we understood but when it comes to health there should be some exceptions) they offered to change our ride to the 1 hour in the afternoon when it was usually less smoky but we would be charged same price! They lied to us and said visibility was good, you could see nothing! All we did was inhale smoke for 2 hours and all the dust from everyone riding in front of us. They also advertise they wipe down saddles after each ride. As soon as we sat on the saddles our pants were DIRTY!!! Unfortunately this was the only stable still open. We went 5 years ago with another stable and it was 10 times better.

Aftet I pre-paid, they were unresponsive. Bait and switch with their totally incorrect description of the view. We moved to a lower priced "villa" dmaller, oldet, but with a view we wanted and were not refunded the difference. In fact they are not answering email at all. We rented three units for a week and spent a LOT. They were so friendly, till they got our money.

the property sits in a beautiful location but a $500 room doesnt get you any view at all. And the room looks like a time travel back to 1990 in a bad way. The carpet, bedding, sofa, kitchen all look super outdated and not very clean. And i suspect the bed is just a pull out sofa bed. We understand summer is a busy/peak season for the area but the room really doesnt justify a $500 a night price tag. And there's no house keeping service during the stay though they do offer clean towel/trash collecting. Also, AC is not working. The breakfast is not ideal s well - coffee tastes like water and everything in the breakfast box is pre-made from the store. Just to have a comparison - for the same price $500/night, jackson lake lodge which is closer to yellowstone park with stunning mountain view from the lobby has an update room with decent food option.

We booked the 1 hour horseback riding experience with Spring Creek Ranch for my family including my 6 year old daughter. My 4 year old stayed back at the corral and did the 20 min pony ride. The horses all looked well taken care of, but going up and down the slopes seem to strain them as their legs would buckle when going downhill. The views of the elk refuge and Grand Tetons were spectacular. At the top, our guides quickly took some photos for us on the side without a view and we were all spread out and looked very unorganized (wished they turned us around to take with the Grand Tetons in the background). The trail and views were incredible, but the experience fell short as it felt more like a business transaction (like herding the cattle) and it was tough seeing all the horses legs buckle long the trail.

For $500 a night, Spring Creek Ranch was a big disappointment. It's in a beautiful setting, but is "rustic" at best. It started out with the "queen" unit that we selected. I didn't take measurements, but the bed (a Murphy) certainly looked much more like a full bed than a queen. When we complained, they moved us to the unit next door, with king bed. The unit that they moved us into was lacking. The first thing that we noticed was the horrible stains all over the carpet. We joked to each other that it looked like a murder scene. The rest of the unit was okay enough, but looked 20 years past when it should have received a facelift. The water temps in the shower were reversed from what was indicated on the handle, the small fridge was barely cold, the TVs were tiny and in a weird part of the room where we couldn't see them unless we sat on the floor. It all just looked cobbled together. We went down to use the hot tub, but it was more like a luke warm tub and the bubbles didn't work. I get that summers in Jackson are high season and everything is expensive, but I've had better experiences at $79 Holiday Inns. I expected more based on the string Tripadvisor reviews.
