An oasis in the historic walled city of Jaipur, Samode Haveli is a traditional Indian mansion set in a glorious garden with apartments arranged around a series of courtyards. Built 175 years ago as a residence of the rulers of Samode, it is still occupied by their descendants, who have converted their home into a luxury hotel. Bedrooms are hidden all about the rambling building and are astonishingly decorative, covered in twinkling mirror work, with ornate paintings, tiny alcoves and soaring arches. Rooms have large beds and most have private terraces. The restaurant features a spectacular hand-painted dining hall which provides a special setting for dinner, and offers a choice of Indian food or delicious Asian and European meals. Guests can also take advantage of the hotel's spa, with sauna and steam room facilities, and a range of luxurious massage therapies offered by expert professionals.

Well kept place with very large rooms, huge gardens with iñviting Pool area, modern Fitness Studio.A rather peaceful oasis in the Center of the pink City. Unfortunately Services are poorly organized with long waiting times at the Pool area and Restaurant. Food allergy was not respected.I needed to mention at every order and to verify .Room Service was fast.Checkout very slow. What a pity! This could be a top notch place if personel was adequately trained and organization streamlined.

This hotel is stunning - a heritage building lovingly converted to seamlessly incorporate modern AC, bathrooms etc. It felt like a ‘real find’ and we would definitely stay again if we are lucky enough to get the chance. Everything about our three night stay was wonderful . The staff were a very welcoming, knowledgable and professional team - it felt like they wanted you to have an amazing stay. We particularly enjoyed the sundowner bar (5/5.30 to 7pm) - watching the kites flying was a fascinating treat. We ate all our delicious meals in the hotel. We asked for medium spice and the food was exactly medium spice. Don’t miss strolling round the hotel to see all this amazing building. There is a tip box in reception, so tips are shared between all staff. There are some additional (with fee) activities offered - we did the morning walk, which was a fascinating insight into the city.

The hotel is open and airy, with a beautiful courtyard to sit and relax and a lovely terrace to have breakfast and dinner. The pool is also very welcoming and is surrounded by pots with flowers in. The staff are extremely helpful and very friendly. The hotel offers a welcoming, peaceful retreat from the bustling city outside. I would highly recommend it to any traveller and look forward to coming back in the future.

A wonderful hotel. Friendly staff. Great location in Jaipur. A tranquil escape from the craziness of the city. Beautiful gardens and relaxing Spa is available but didn’t have enough time to use it! Delicious breakfast buffet and sat out under a 250 year old Banyan tree.

The Samode is an oasis in the heart of Jaipur. Somewhere to decompress after a day site seeing. Great gardens, pool, courtyards and bars. The staff like Pushpen are earnest and keen to look after you. The food is good and reasonably priced. The pool area is wonderful. Clean and cool with lots of seating. The heritage charm of this motel is worth the price.
