My wife and I just returned from a week in Cayo Santa Maria. We are repeat customers at the Melia Cayo Santa Maria and will not be staying anywhere else. From the moment you step off the bus, you are welcomed and made to feel like you are home. The staff is incredible in every aspect, making sure that your trip is amazing. The porters were there immediately to assist with luggage and getting us to our room. Alexis, Michael, Yunior, Orelvi, Javier, and anyone I regretfully missed are always there to assist in getting you a taxi or a ride to your room. Thank you to the entire crew. The front desk staff made check-in and check out effortless. Thank you to all the staff, Mislady, Guianeya, and Daimara, especially when we were having flight delays trying to get home. They all went out of the way to give us the most up to date info about the flights that was available, especially when the Sunwing rep was not on site. The Lobby Bar staff were second to none. Always busy and always happy. Quick to get you a drink or smile on the way by. Juan Carlo, Norge, Ernesto, Ezekiel, and the ones I didn't mention were awesome. Thank you for making our trip that much better. Getting clean towels from Alfredo was always great. He takes time to talk to you and is always smiling and greeting you as you walk by. Definitely another valuable staff member of the Melia CSM. Leticia was awesome booking our a la carte reservations and switching them if needed. Always smiling and laughing with the guests. The entire crew at the Buffet is efficient and looks after you very well. Chi Chi, Yamile, Ariel, Danny Fredy, Frank and everyone I didn't get to mention were always smiling and taking care of your needs. Several times at the a la carte meal, we had Kirenia and Len and Bladimir, great to see them again, and the service was very polite and professional. Thank you to all the buffet and a la carte staff. Our maid Saily was fantastic. She made sure our room was clean and anything we needed was taken care of. Eduardo kept our room stocked with water and anytime he saw us around the resort, would make sure we had anything we needed. Great job, and thank you. We had a fantastic trip again this year and will be going back again in September with more family. Can't wait to see everyone again. We appreciate every single member of the staff for doing their best to make sure we had a great time. We wish we could mention everyone we had interactions with and appreciate them for the job they did, and I apologize for any misspelling in names. Please remember, as a tourist, although there might not be bacon at the buffet one breakfast, the Cuban people face hardships daily in basic needs such as electricity and food. They all struggle and still want you to have the best time while you are away. If there is no bacon, it's not the fault of the staff. Please don't take it out on them. Please take the time to talk to them, enjoy them for the amazing people they are. They want to share the culture and the true Cuban spirit with you. Please take the time to embrace it. You won't be sorry at all. See everyone at Melia CSM again soon. Thank you for everything.

With all the hype about Cuba recently, I’m happy to report that the Melia Cayo Santa Maria surpassed my expectations. We had no issues with power outages, the staff as always, were fantastic, rooms were clean, lots of water (both drinking and bathing), restaurants/ lobbies/bars/pools/etc all clean and well maintained. As expected, there was not a huge selection of food, but everything was well prepared and presented. I am always impressed at how well the kitchen staff/chefs can create tasty meals with the limited ingredients and supplies. And, most importantly, the beaches were fantastic! beautiful clean white sand and crystal clear blue water as far south the eye can see. For anyone looking to travel to Cuba for an all inclusive vacation I would not hesitate to recommend the Melia Cayo Santa Maria.

This was our second time to the resort and it did not disappoint! We had a great time and the staff remembered us from two years ago. It is a very clean place and the overall atmosphere is lovely. Food is great! Always lots of options and we appreciate the cooks who remember us and always treat us to something extra special! The serving staff are the greatest and we love them. Beaches are stunning with clear water and white sand. I love how you can go to the beach at any time and get a cabana and chairs. The guys make sure to find you a good spot and are always happy to see you. The entertainment staff are amazing and put on a fantastic show. I would say the only thing we noticed is the inconsistency of some drinks (super strong/weak) and the variety of options (would be helpful to have a menu with pictures of what is served) The lobby bar staff (3-5 servers) liked to mill around while only one guy was out serving tables and running around when it was visibly busy. So the wait times for a drink could be longer for that reason. Overall it is a great resort and we will be lifelong visitors. We look forward to our next stay!

We are reoccurring guests of the hotel for many years now and there is a very good reason for it. At this resort, we are treated as family. From the moment you disembark the bus upon arrival, you have a sense of coming home. There are many beautiful people that make this hotel warm and inviting, not jus one or two. From the front desk to the lobby bar to the many hard working grounds keepers that great you every moment they can and make the resort so beautiful for all. Love is all around! The porters are wonderful and make sure you are well set in your room and are very prompt when time for early pick up (05:25). The fridge is always filled and always with a loving smile. Adonis and the other hard working staff always make our room so welcoming and cleaned daily with so much love. Then there is Alfredo who is always there to great us with fresh towels for the beach and the loving crew at the grill and beach bar happy to see us and fill our bellies with home cooked meals. The entertainment crew are always fabulous and work hard to entertain their guests, always look forward to seeing them perform. DJ Alex, Arel, Victor, Marine to name but a few are are very dear to us and the many others that return each and every year! Then there is the lovely Nayibi an Juana who not only entertain but take precious care of your little ones... It takes a very special group of individuals to make this place our second home. The staff in the buffet great us at the door with hugs and kisses and know year after just which table is our favorite. The chefs work very hard to please all whether it be breakfast, lunch or dinner and even go the extra mile in preparing extra special dishes for us in the kitchen. We love them so! This hotel loves their returning family and as such treat us to a returning guests dinner; such a lovely surprise and the staff in the private dinning rooms as well as à la carte dinning are loving and very professional. So many people to mention and so much love to them all as they are truly family and we look forward to seeing them again soon xo! Lisa & Steve Estensen

Once again, the Melia Cayo Santa Maria exceeded all of our expectations. This was our ninth trip to this little piece of paradise. Rooms were comfortable and up to date, food was amazing, the bathrooms were the cleanest they've ever been in all our trips and the grounds breathtaking. The colour of the ocean is only something Mother Nature can make - it's spectacular. It was a little windy when we were there which is expected in February and March and one morning there was no water because a water pipe broke overnight. But that was quickly fixed and everything was back to normal by mid morning. We've never had that problem before and it's a rarity but to be fair, I need to put that in my review. The staff are the kindest, hardest working people. They go above and beyond to make sure everyone feels like family. Staff remembered us after six years of being unable to travel. We were welcomed by hugs and kisses by everyone. Our hearts are at the Melia Cayo Santa Maria and we can't wait to return next year.
