Perched high above the desert capital of Jodhpur, Umaid Bhawan Palace is the last of the great palaces of India and one of the largest private residences in the world – set amidst 26 acres of lush gardens. Designed by renowned Edwardian architect Henry Lanchester, the palace is a blend of eastern and western architectural influences. Its majestic 105 – foot high cupola is influenced by the Renaissance, while the towers draw inspiration from Rajput tradition. The lavish interiors with gilt furniture and elegant artwork follow the Art Deco style, complemented by the exotic murals by the self-exiled Polish artist Stefan Norblin. In 1997, the palace was converted into a luxury hotel, and is now managed by TAJ. With this, the TAJ extends its grand luxury palace experience to the city of Jodhpur.

We celebrated our 25th anniversary in Umaid Bhavan. I must say it was the best decision taken by us as they took care of us and treated us with royalty, from the time we entered and till the end of our stay.. Mr. Swaroop Singh Ji made sure he took personal care to make our stay luxurious and comfortable. The entire team including Mohan, Tribhuvan, Malvika, Surendra and Rajveer…excellent work. Thank you so much.

Umaid Bhawan Palace is a majestic palace with its breathtaking architecture and gardens, staff is highly trained and meticulous, it offers top class luxurious hotel experience. We felt like royalty from the moment we arrived at the palace. We were grateful for the incredible hospitality. Special thanks must go to Guest Relations executive and his team of service staff for going above and beyond to ensure a memorable stay for me and my wife, aunty and uncle. Umaid Bhawan Palace is a perfect venue for creating unforgettable memories one will cherish forever with loved ones.

Very bad arrival experience. Land there after a long drive and the security guard with overgrown mustache barks that you can not stop near the entrance. he somehow is unable to speak a sentence without blowing into his whistle in between. Booked a cab thru the hotel for 1:30. At 1:40 no cab in sight. When I asked the guy at the front desk he said the cab is in the parking lot and will come soon. I told him that I would expect it in less than a minute as the parking lot is not far. For the next ten minutes too, no car, and I was told by the same guy that the cab will be there soon, and one should expect some waiting time. I told him that it was already 20 minutes late. the same ramshackle cab one can get from Uber, but with a 100% hotel markup. and then this experience. Very badly managed hotel - the bluffer & duffer at the front office put me off. The food experience was bad too. Limited variety and so-so quality of food. The only good thing was the very talented and pleasant local musician who played his string instrument outside the all-day dining. Will noy go there again till the management improves. And improves considerably.

What an absolutely wonderful experience! The property itself is stunning, one of the best we’ve ever stayed, and the staff truly go above and beyond to ensure a memorable stay. Sikunder’s palace tour was both insightful and captivating, offering a unique perspective on the property. Swaroop and Rajveer made our birthday celebration so much fun and unforgettable. Hukam’s kindness and meticulous attention to detail ensured our room was always perfectly attended to. And Aman provided outstanding service during both breakfast and dinner, making every meal a delight. Thank you to the entire team for such exceptional hospitality!
