About the Hotel

Perched high above the desert capital of Jodhpur, Umaid Bhawan Palace is the last of the great palaces of India and one of the largest private residences in the world – set amidst 26 acres of lush gardens. Designed by renowned Edwardian architect Henry Lanchester, the palace is a blend of eastern and western architectural influences. Its majestic 105 – foot high cupola is influenced by the Renaissance, while the towers draw inspiration from Rajput tradition. The lavish interiors with gilt furniture and elegant artwork follow the Art Deco style, complemented by the exotic murals by the self-exiled Polish artist Stefan Norblin. In 1997, the palace was converted into a luxury hotel, and is now managed by TAJ. With this, the TAJ extends its grand luxury palace experience to the city of Jodhpur.

My self Ganga singh Rathore I stayed at Umaid Bhawan Palace on the 2nd Feb 2025, which was a memorable experience for me. I enjoyed it a lot and I would like to appreciate the food production kitchen the most, who served me such good food. I mention the names of those in the room, Sohan Singh, Bhanwar Singh, Shobhit Mathur, these three took very good care of me and my clients, very appreciated.

A truly royal experience in the most impressive palace we have ever stayed at. The welcome ceremony not only was of the finest Rajasthany hospitality, but even more touching as Mister Sikander, who has been an important member of the stuff over many years, was there at the impressive reception upon our arrival. He remembered us from a former stay many years ago.

Amazing hospitality...commendable service. Sikandar ji from the property hosted us really really well. It was our stay after wedding and it was celebrated in a grand manner with cake cutting. The property hosted us really well. Looking forward to coming here again
