Holiday Inn Johannesburg Airport

The rooms and facilities are exactly same as mentioned and shown in photographs. The service was slow in bar and restaurant ,and only one staff was managing entire restaurant, on asking the reason she replied all staff are busy in some ongoing party. This was not the fault of the staff, them management should allocate staff judiciously. Overall hotel is good, however rooms are small. The Breakfast menu has very limited veg options.

From the moment I walked into this hotel, I felt welcomed and at ease. The bedroom was immaculate, with soft linens and fluffy pillows that made for a perfect night’s sleep. The bathroom was equally spotless, and the provided shower gel and shampoo were such a thoughtful touch—they completely saved me from unpacking my own toiletries after a long flight. Reception was a breeze, even at 11 PM. The staff member on duty was friendly, efficient, and managed multiple check-ins with ease. Each family was checked in within three minutes—a testament to his professionalism and skill. Breakfast on the morning of 27/11 was an absolute delight. The food was fresh and delicious, but what stood out even more was the warm service. Happiness, your cheerful demeanor and genuine smile (not just from your lips but from your eyes!) brightened my morning. It’s clear you truly love your job, and that positivity makes all the difference. As a coffee lover, I had my doubts at first, but my first cup of coffee in South Africa, served in a crisp white mug, exceeded all expectations. It was perfectly brewed without me even needing to specify how strong I like it. Special thanks to William at the coffee station—your warm smile and excellent service were unforgettable. Keep it up, and I hope the younger generation learns from your stellar example. If you ever find yourself with a layover in Johannesburg, I highly recommend staying here. And no, I don’t get paid for this review—it’s just a genuine thank-you to the incredible team that made my stay so memorable. Thanks again, Natalie

Amazing hotel with amazing owners and people working inside . I ve been sick there and they treat me like family 🥰🙏🏾 they have been taking care of me . I would definitely recommend to come here and I will personally come back when I come to Johannesburg

The hotel will provide shuttle bus from OR Tambo airport to the hotel every half an hour. However the shuttle bus has no logo printed on the side of the bus and just has a plastic/paper card with holiday inn name placed on the front of the driver seat. Very easy to miss it if one keeps looking for bus with logo on side which is the norm of other hotels. For IHG chain, Holiday Inn should have a better service.

The hotel is a well located airport hotel about 15 mins drive from OR Tambo airport. There is a complimentary shuttle bus that runs every 30 mins to the airport, which is a nice touch. While the location ticks the boxes, the hotel room we stayed in was very dated, the air conditioning remote control was missing on arrival, the bathroom hadn’t been properly cleaned (the bin had rubbish in from the previous occupant), the soundproofing re corridor and neighbouring room noise was poor, and the bed was not comfortable (the pillows were all very firm resulting in a poor night’s sleep). It was disappointing given we have previously stayed at the Rosebank Holiday Inn and had a great experience.
