One&Only Desaru Coast

Have a wonderful short trip during the weekend.Great stay, would definitely return in future with a longer stay.

Just back from a fantastic week at this hotel. My first stay at a One & Only and I enjoyed it so much I will actively seek out more of their hotels. Firstly the location is truly beautiful. They have preserved chunks of rainforest and the bird life, butterflies and monkeys have stayed. The main pool is much bigger than the photos imply and private beach is huge. We felt like we barely saw other guests. The staff all knew your name and were friendly and super hospitable. Every comfort has been thought of. 5 stars all day long. Took our 8 and 9 year old kids and they loved it. Sadly didn’t get to put them in the free kids club but it looked excellent.

From New Zealand and drove up specifically to see resort for next year. Wanted to go for lunch and look around but they wouldn’t even let us through the gates. So much for customer service! Would definitely not stay now. I even mentioned that I organise conferences for my job but that didn’t help either. Unbelievable, never ever had issues before.

We truly enjoyed our stay at One&Only Desaru. Top notch service by the staffs, luxury accommodation, amazing food, beautiful resort design, nice landscaping and definitely a great place to relax. Will definitely come back!

First time staying at a One&Only resort and it didn't disappoint. The resort itself is your usual private getaway on a coastal enclave, but the excellent service levels truly elevated the experience and is a mark of how One&Only prides itself in being an "ultra luxury" travel getaway. If you're looking for a quiet and relaxing place to break away from the bustle of city life, this is for you. 1.5 hour ferry ride from Singapore, perfect for a weekend or even better—a few weekdays. The Japanese omakase restaurant (one of my fave omakase experiences now) is closed on Sundays & Mondays, while live acoustic music at Dusky Monkey (which was really good!) isn't available on Sundays, so just take note if those two are of interest. Facilities and amenities-wise, all top notch. Gym was 5 stars. It's a resort, so expect the usual bugs and insects suspects outdoors, but your suite would be impeccably clean. What blew us away was the service from all staff — from pickup at the ferry terminal to drop-off at the end. Most staff would personalise your experience by getting to know your name, your usual orders (even tho we were only there for 2 nights) and would engage you in conversations without being too imposing. While the Ember beach club was closed for a private event on our first day, we spent most of the rest of our stay there — reminiscent of a beach club/resort poolside in the Maldives. Special mentions: Khairi and Noel from Front Office; Morris from Dusky Monkey (a budding bartender who takes pride in learning new skills!); Arissa from the recreations club; Chefs Aizat and Rafi from Hoshi; Previ, Yoga and especially Eugene from Ember Club — top notch service and potent recipes!
