What a fantastic experience we had staying at the Hapuku. Our room was in the lodge looking over the pool and towards the spectacular mountains. The room was perfect. We'll maintained clean and functional. They have thought of small things to make the guests stay more pleasant. The mineral pool was lovely. Not hot but great especially for some laps. We enjoyed the complementary bikes and a nice walk around the property and to the beach. The food was next level. I could not fault it. I have left the best till last the staff. They were so helpful and their attention to detail was appreciated. Such a fantastic weekend. Thankyou.

What a beautiful lodge. Stunning setting surrounded by mountains, excellent food and a bonus of an outdoor heated pool and jacuzzi with views across the paddock of deer. Rooms are incredible with every mod con you could imagine, and an original Picasso in the Olive Lodge! Two nights at least is a must. There are some lovely walks in the area and the lodge is so nice you won’t want to leave.

Beautiful property in a wonderful spot. Could not fault it. Lodge suite was fantastic, and the amenities are tastefully done. Views of the ranges are spectacular and just a short walk to the coast. There are nice walks around the property and the staff were attentive and friendly.

For the first time in 15 years, my husband planned our anniversary get away and boy, is he allowed to do this again. He absolutely hit the jackpot in choosing Hapuku Lodge to mark the occassion. We stayed in the Kereru Tree House and I can not stop raving about it. The room was so well designed, presented and thought out. With a view to the ocean out one side and a view to the mountains out the other we were spoilt for choice as to which view to enjoy. The heated floor, toilet seat and the gas fire were luxurious with the weather being cool during our stay, but not too cool to experience a mineral swimming pool for the first time - the hype is real! We warmed up in the spa followed by a sauna and the only disappointment was that I didn't manage to find time for a soak in the bath. The food was devine, the flavours were exquisite and the attention to detail and presentation. I took considerable enjoyment in watching the chef plate up using chopsticks and enjoyed the care they put into each plate. If you're reading this and looking for someone to stay that for a special occassion or to simply treat yourself to a spot of luxury, don't look any further. I am a former travel agent who has travelled extensively and visited many hotels and resorts and Hapuku has to be a clear head above anywhere I've ever been before. Treat yourself, you will not be disappointed!

Every bit of our stay was perfect. From the initial greeting through to the meals through to the spa, just perfect. We stayed in Treehouse 1 and was constantly blown away by the small touches. The staff were all wonderful and made an effort to know you by name. It was very quiet when we went so staff were multitasking. Rachel checked us in, gave us a tour, was one of our spa therapists (what she’s qualified to do! She wasn’t just helping out and giving it a go!), waited on our table and carried our luggage to our treehouse. She made our trip. She was so lovely, full of character and a very warm person to be around. We found the spa to be very good value compared to other 5* “resorts” and was a lovely personal experience. The food was incredible. One night I didn’t like either of the starter options and the chef went out of his way to make something different. Most nights I ate something I wouldn’t normally order and was blown away. If I was to think up some criticisms, our Japanese toilet didn’t work on all the other features, but it flushed perfectly and was lovely and toasty! Also the rooms Sky TV is a little outdated, but you don’t go there to watch TV. We would return in a heartbeat. We loved it and will recommend it to anyone who will listen.
