Truly a step above the rest!

The White Barn Inn from start to finish made us feel valued and special throughout our stay. Little touches like the warm apple cider on check-in (along with a warm welcome from Will and Caleb) started this off amazingly and it continued throughout our stay with the cozy room and the fun Mercedes program that lets you take out their fleet of cars. We will be back surely as it is one of the few hotel experiences that felt one of a kind in a slew of so many average ones.

A milestone birthday to remember

I spent the 3 nights 4 days at the White Barn Inn for my birthday. I found a great deal on my CC travel site and couldn't say no. I am so glad I didn't. The genuine kindness of the staff started as soon as we pulled up to the front door. Checking in and a surprise room upgrade made the start of my birthday celebrations that much better. After checking in, the staff took us on a quick tour of the main building and then walked us to our room. We got upgraded to the Loft Suite and I was ecstatic to have all that room available! It is totally worth the price. The food - all three main meals where wonderful. There was a slight hiccup with our dinner at Little Barn but that was quickly remedied. The car lending program - The resort had 5 different Mercedes Benz cars available for guest to use during their stay. We tried almost all of them except the electric car option. My favorite was the convertible coup. The guest services help us make reservations to some of their offerings, like the wine and cheese pairings and the cocktail to farm class. I must say, that saying - you get what you pay for - is absolutely true here. The services were outstanding, the room was spacious and charming, and the food was delicious. I would definitely stay again and have already started looking at different auberge resorts within the east coast.

Incredible getaway

Just returned from our first visit to Maine for my husband's birthday. Couldn't have picked a more luxurious place to stay. The staff is uniformly friendly and expertly trained to treat guests like royalty. The dining room/bar area is by far one of the loveliest we've ever experienced. First... all the "goods"... there are 5 different Mercedes you are free to use for 4 hour stretches each day. That was kind of fun, although we only took advantage of them once as we were more comfortable using our own car and GPS for safety reasons. Room is loaded with special touches... blueberry soda, Maine gummy candy lobsters, chocolate covered blueberries, cookies, ice and fresh water each day. A wonderful touch... Every evening, a treat of some kind was left in the room, and each morning fresh coffee and a baked good are delivered to your doorstep. Rooms are made up to perfection twice a day, which was wonderful. There are Barbour coats and umbrellas available in all sizes for use by guests. The spa was intimate and very comfortable. Cookies, salt water taffy, and mixed nuts always available, night and day. Valets are so nice and friendly! They were uniformly polite and gracious, as was front desk concierge, Grace. Really enhanced our experience. Dining- dinner, and especially breakfast, were incredible. Prices are reasonable given the setting and the caliber of service. Breakfast was included in the way we booked our stay, and was well worth it. Bartender (her name escapes me) can mix a mean drink! The "so, so" (there is NO bad) ... only minor observation we can make, and I knew this when I booked the room, so full disclosure, not the property's fault, is that our "original farmhouse room" is two flights of stair up, and pretty small. Next time I would opt for a larger room. And while the charm of the inn itself is that the building is old, carpeting in hallways and some of the furniture on the landings could use some freshening. The dining area, however, makes up for it all. It is just gorgeous. Overall, I'm thrilled to have spent a decadent few days at the White Barn... thank you so much to the wonderful staff for making our first trip to Maine one we'll never forget!

Great Kennebunk stay!

Service here is 10/10. The dining (food, service, experience) was also 10/10. Location is also excellent, about a mile from both the beach and downtown. Our spa service was good, though I think the spa area is small and doesn't offer much from an amenity standpoint. It is also a very old Inn (though, a luxurious Inn!) so do expect some noise at night. However, our room was excellent, fully stocked with great amenities, the bed was one of the most comfortable hotel beds I've slept in, and I cannot say enough about how attentive and friendly all the staff was.
