Located on a secluded lagoon carved into Phuket’s quiet west coast, Anantara Lawana Koh Samui Resort is tranquil enough to while away days without leaving the private beach yet convenient to nightlife and attractions on the island’s bustling southern shores. Al fresco pleasures abound, from the panoramic views from private balconies to romantic soaks under the stars.

We had a delightful time together in Anantara Lawana. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. Room was lovely with a modern and fresh atmosphere but still very traditional Thai style. We were always satisfied with the quality of the service that was provided at our every request. Restaurants are nice and the breakfast is good with a vast selection of dishes. Some you can also order a la carte. They also have a beautiful restaurant called Tree Top - it’s a gastronomic restaurant, perfect for a dinner for 2. Overall very happy.

Spent 9 days ant this relaxing beach resort with 2 children. Breakfast was excellent and we enjoyed hanging out by the beach and dipping in the beautiful infinity pool. Hotel can do more to improve the quality of the food at that dinner venues but with so many nearby restaurants there was never a shortage of dining options. Special thanks to Joy from the reception who took amazing care of us and who made our stay very special. The hotel also went out of the way to take care of us and arranged free transportation to a nearby clinic when one of us required medical assistance.

Not among the best resorts of Thailand. I've been to Thailand at least 10 times and used to high standards by being customer of Banyan Tree, Conrad (talking about other names from Samui), Rita Carlton and many others... I personally had high expectations before arriving. Positive points: The design of the hotel and comfort of the room . Great quality of the products at the breakfast. Negative points: - had to change the TV as ours didn't work - super noisy hotel. One of our friends had to switch rooms. - super noisy pool. It's clearly written no jumping but who cares... I even complained but no reaction... groups of families shouting on the pool... - pool: so many uneducated people booking their sunbeds before going to the breakfast... I felt like in a cheap club in Costa brava... - breakfast: they were usually fast at bringing food from the menu but I don't know why, to get coffees, we had to ask every morning 3 times. - housekeeping: I can't believe that the cleaning is not usually done before noon... - crab restaurant: food is not fantastic. At the beginning, we thought we were too picky but the day after by going to the restaurant of the Centara Reserve, we realised there was a gap in terms of food quality. - the shop of the hotel. It's nice but they just don't have anyone working there. If you need something, you have to ask s9meone from the reception. And if you wanna try a shirt, you take it and bring it to the gym to see if it's fits you. The staff is trying to send to you the Anantara Bophut to get a meeting with a real estate agent... asking once is fine but the girls asked me again when I started to complain at the front office she told me to go to the other anantara bophut to chill and see the villas to buy... that's a great feeling of being listened by someone. - Last night, I ordered a room service and during the call, I told them to make sure that the bill would immediately be added on my main bill as I wanted to proceed with my checkout while waiting for the food. I was clear enough and of course it hasn't been done... so I was passed to repeat myself again at the reception. When the good arrived, I wanted a table to eat and the guy told me they didn't have any foldable table or couldn't bring me a table to have my dinner... it was pouring outside and windy and there's no table in the room to eat... first time that I m facing this situation in a hotel. People are kind like everywhere in Thailand but if your having real high expectations, Anantara Lawana is not the place. The beach of the hotel is small and has lots of rocks. But in any case, this is not the fault of the hotel. For me, it's too many details not linked to a top 5 star hotel.

What an amazing hotel!!! The staff are truly what gave this hotel a high rating for us. Everything is kept clean and the staff work endlessly to keep it this way. Every staff member was so friendly from the moment you enter the lobby to the passing cleaning staff. As a family we loved that there was a kids club based in the hotel this again is kept very clean and provides excellent entertainment for creative children. From tie dying to umbrella painting, our child did not want to leave. The highlight for our child was the our door cinema with popcorn on the beach. We enjoyed as many of activities and facilities the hotel has on offer for their guests, at the beach there are always sun loungers and towels provided with a drinking station to keep cool and refreshed. The beach/pool guy is always on hand to take an order for food and drink or provided fresh towels and move the loungers to your desired location for shade or more sun. The restaurant /bars on site were wonderful. Lots of option and if there was something not on the menu nothing was too much trouble to make at your request. The food was delicious and full of flavour from traditional Thai dishes to more western dishes. Kids menus are also provided for a more simple selection. I highly recommend their sea to land bbq on the beach with live singer and fire show. There is an excellent selection of barbecued meats and fresh fish on offer. This combined with sitting on the beach by the sea with the amazing singer watching the sun set was 10/10 for us. Top that off with the fire show felt so personal and intimate. The rooms are a perfect combination of Thai accents meets modern. The rooms are spacious and clean with bottled water always being topped up. The beds are huge and beyond comfortable perfect for collapsing into after a busy day out in the sun. Every room has air conditioning and even a fan outdoors in the outdoor lounge space. Location - Just up the hill from chewengs main strip it was a lot quieter Anantara is at the top of the hill. As soon as you exit the hotel there is a pharmacy and cafes a little was down are spas, restaurants and bike rentals. I could go on about how wonderful this hotel is. But for us the overall experience was perfect. And highly recommend for families and couples.
