Beach Republic stands for freedom – forming its own autonomous region of Koh Samui, the resort is 10 minutes via free shuttle from the action in Lamai, but more often than not, partygoers in Lamai make Beach Republic their destination. A swanky Beach Club buzzes day and night, and its Sunday Sessions – starting with an elaborate brunch – are renowned across the island. Rooms and villas are also self-sufficient, equipped with a kitchenette and a terrace dining area. Bright, modern décor pops with bold artwork and splashes of color, and the onsite restaurant is equally edgy: it ranked among Thailand Tatler’s Best Restaurants of 2014.

I booked a stay at Beach Republic in Koh Samui expecting a health resort experience, but it fell far short of expectations. I was drawn by its promotion as a health and wellness destination, with yoga classes and detox options, but my experience was very disappointing. On the very first day, the yoga class was cancelled because there weren’t enough participants (only two of us). The yoga teacher arrived 15 minutes late and refused to hold the class, stating she required at least four people to make it worthwhile. This lack of professionalism and commitment to wellness guests was unacceptable. Additionally, the resort’s overall vibe was more about two-for-one alcoholic beverage deals than fostering a health-focused or detox-friendly environment. It didn’t resemble a health resort in the slightest. To add to this, there were incentives like free ice cream for five-star reviews on TripAdvisor, which made me question the authenticity of their glowing reviews. The experience was so underwhelming that I decided to leave two days early. While I appreciated that I was refunded for one of those days, it doesn’t make up for the misrepresentation and wasted time. If you're looking for a true health or detox retreat, I would strongly advise looking elsewhere. Beach Republic is neither a health resort nor a wellness destination in any meaningful sense. I cannot recommend it to anyone seeking a genuine yoga or detox experience.

Rooms are very clean and spacious we pick a room with a kitchenette, supplied with enoughto cook some homemade food 😋. The breakfast included is also very nice. Staff are amazing, Vivian is very customer attentive to ensure your happy and comfortable during your stay. Spoke to Tim the owner during breakfast and I felt compelled to reiterate my satisfaction of his place and managed. Thank you Beach Republic for a comfortable 12 nights stay.
