Centara Grand Beach Resort Samui makes a memorable first impression. A marble staircase unfolds from a façade supported by imposing white pillars, a gateway into a beachside complex of perfectly manicured lawns and dense thickets of palm trees. Swim up to the bar flanking a meandering, mosaic-tiled pool or opt for a white parasol umbrella on Chaweng Beach – Centara stakes its turf at the end of Koh Samui’s most popular beach, which means there’s less foot traffic to interfere with sunbathing, yet a vibrant nightlife and restaurant scene is just a short walk away.

We stayed from 1 week with the family in the resort looking for relaxing holidays and this hotel exceeded our expectations. Starting from the welcoming at arrival up to check-out - all staff were so friendly and helpful. The hotel rooms (we had room 732 and 617) are really nicely done and the bed really enabling a good sleep. All in all I highly recommend this place to everyone.

From the moment we turned into the sweeping forecourt and entered the palatial triple height marble foyer we felt instantly relaxed and pampered. Our room was beautifully designed with a lovely big comfy bed, a nice little balcony with sea views and the complimentary in-room bar was a great touch. Set right on the soft sandy beach, in exquisite manicured gardens. It has one of the biggest pools I've ever seen, zoned for play, swimming, swim-up bar and lights up with sparkly lights at night. In another part of the gardens there was an adults only pool which was great for us and our early morning swims. The pool guys were brilliant, preparing our sun loungers every day and topping up our iced mineral waters. We ate outside for breakfast which was served buffet style with 4 rooms of choices, an egg station, fruits and cereals, bread and patisseries, and local delicacies, yummy. We dined at 3 of the in-house restaurants all of which were excellent. The hotel is located towards the quieter end of Chaweng beach where we took long walks, enjoying seeing the watersports, massage stations, bars and people watching. One of the most important things for us was the super friendly, helpful staff, especially Toon & Kik who were very kind to me when I was unwell. Thank you for a wonderful start to our holiday, we would definitely consider coming back.

This resort offered everything of the highest standard. Room, grounds, facilities are gorgeous. Luxurious in every way with an exceptional staff. Shout out to Best who was unbelievable and offered a customized experience. Him and his team (Fern, Beaut) were always available and went out of their way to help and provide an unbelievable stay.

Wonderful, elegant, beautiful surroundings in a truly magnificent setting. We were treated like royalty the minute we stepped into the Centara. Excellent food and service and we had a grand holiday. The staff were brilliant in all the hotel departments. Thank you for looking after us so well. We would highly recommend this hotel!

First impression of entrance and lobby area is great and you get the feeling of enter a 5* resort. However, the girls in the reception speak quite poor english, not expected for a resort like this. Was quite difficult communicating. Also as we asked about if possible to play tennis they answered very vague. The gym and the room smelled a bit odd, like stale air, and we had mold in the shower, but the overall impression of the room is good. Very little space for our suitcases though. Bed very comfortable. Direct access to the pool and complimentary minibar. Several restaurants to choose from. Pool area has quite a lot of sunbeds, however none directly on the beach. Adult area very crowded and also difficult to get beds (anywhere) if you have late breakfast. Beach is nice. You can walk in both directions. Overall it is nice, especially compared to a lot of other hotels nearby. A bit expensive, and I don’t think we would go back, not at this price, just above 800 USD a night.
