Celebrated a wedding anniversary and birthday during our 2 week stay at Hansar Samui. Our first trip to Thailand and not the last. Upgraded to an XL room to find it decorated for our special occasion. Hotel location at the end of the Fisherman’s Village strip and 2 minutes from Coco Tams and the market was perfect. Breakfast was good, as were the drinks from the each bar. Loved the pool (although see below) with towels aplenty. Never struggled to find a sun lounger. Every staff member was great and made our stay enjoyable. Just a couple of points to note, but minor in the scheme of things; - The pool water did get a bit cloudy a few days in but this seemed to be rectified although I never saw the pool being cleaned. - The beach was more small stones than sand so hard underfoot. The sea was quite choppy and even in the cordoned off swimming area got deep very quickly - so we spent more time poolside. - With the room decor being wooden, there was considerable noise from upstairs when anyone was moving around. We did complain once as this was late at night. Was also a shame we were on the ground floor as it lessened the view. It seems most people stayed just a few days before moving around Thailand but we felt this hotel was perfect for our needs for 2 weeks.

We arrived with great expectations about this resort but were very disappointed! Quick check in and explanation of the resort then we made our way to our room (no lift). First impressions were OK but on closer inspection the room was badly in need of renovation. Furniture old and probably the worst wardrobe I have ever encountered! Bedroom small but open shower huge (badly in need of the grout being cleaned). I took photos of this room which I intend to send to my TA! Breakfast offering cold with no fresh orange juice. Check out by the reception man was cold! An expensive hotel and we would definitely not return.

Hotel is in an amazing location nice facilities and pool area. Staff are very friendly and accommodating. Negatives are conditions of the rooms, there is obviously a lot of humidity on the island so they have dehumidifiers in the rooms however there are still some dark/mould spots in the corners. You can hear other rooms using toilet and taps when they’re running. We also lost hot water during the stay. The bed was also very noisy when you moved on it waking us up throughout the night. Overall a nice hotel but maybe not the 5 star as advertised.

Absolute top resort! Wonderful premises, very friendly and helpful staff, fantastic breakfast, great pool and right at the beach!! Also location is perfect right next to Fisherman Village with bars, restaurants and shops but at the quiet end of the boardwalk far enough away from all the noise. The perfect resort, highly recommended!!

Hotel has 3 floors please be aware there is no lift so if your mobility isn't too good avoid this hotel. Breakfast staff were really lovely but found the poolside staff not as accomodating, they even started taking the parasoles away on the beach around 4pm. Rooms were lovely and cleaned everyday, we was on the 3rd floor so had a great view of the pool/sea. Not sure if you could see this view from floor 1. Beach was lovely but very hard to walk on as your feet was sinking in the sand so made it very hard to walk on. The sea isn't the cleanest so used the pool to cool off. Pool area got very busy but found it quietened off around 3pm. Nice path that leads to the Fisherman's market roughly about 5 mins walk, some nice bars and restaurants. Overall compared to the rest of Koh Samui Fisherman's village is the nicest place to stay. Avoid Chaweng and Limai it's full of backpackers and dirty beaches full of plastic bottles and litter.
