My partner and I had an incredible two-week stay at Melati, and one of the highlights of our trip was our experience at Kan Sak Thong Restaurant. The hotel itself is beautiful, and all the staff were exceptionally friendly, making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. We absolutely loved the cooking class with Chef Ken! He was incredibly kind and personable, making sure to explain everything clearly, especially when it came to the essential ingredients for authentic Thai cuisine. The food we learned to prepare was nothing short of delicious, and you can truly taste the authenticity in every bite. Chef Ken’s expertise really shines through in his teaching and the dishes he creates. It was an unforgettable experience, and we highly recommend it to anyone looking to dive deeper into Thai cooking. We also had a great time with the fitness lessons led by Dew and Kookkai (hope I’ve spelled his names right!). They made each session enjoyable and energetic, which was a wonderful way to balance our time exploring and relaxing. A special thank you to Ning and Pad as well, for always providing such wonderful service. Your smiles and professional level of service made our time even more enjoyable, and we truly appreciated it. Thank you to everyone at Kan Sak Thong and the Melati team for such a memorable experience.

Reading through some of the reviews before we visited in Feb 2025, we were a little worried about the quality of this hotel. Believe me there is nothing to worry about as this hotel is really nice and we have stayed in resorts from the Maldives to the Caribbean. Whilst some parts are a little tired i.e. jacuzzi doesn’t work and the bedroom showers can be slippery the negative reviews are so wrong it’s just a beautiful place. We stayed for 14 nights in a Pool Villa Suite with a huge master bedroom, two really big bathrooms, outdoors shower, a lounge and a courtyard/patio affair with the private pool. The hotel area from the entrance side starts with the beautiful lobby building and meanders down past all the rooms through beautiful gardens. The other place where you want to be is the beach end of the hotel, which has the main infinity pool with amazing views, the breakfast area which doubles as a beach restaurant at night, and the kids club. Distance from the lobby side to the beach side is about 200m, which is a lovely walk through the well kept gardens. Unless you are really old and frail, im not sure how can anyone complain about a 5 min walk through a beautiful Thai garden? The hotel felt pretty full, which was a positive thing. It was a quiet, relaxing atmosphere, where you can just about get a free sunbed every day, and enjoy the pool and beach area with about 10-20 other guests. There was some towel-booking, but the staff was happy to remove them if you ask, as per hotel policy. During a typical pool day, it was a mix of 3-4 families with toddlers, some couples and then mostly older people. Breakfast was great, with all the fresh fruit and pastries and eggs of every description and whatever you can think of. I ate Thai food in the hotel restaurants, which was fabulous and quite affordable. Beach was nice, no rubbish the water is shallow but very safe and the main pool was just so nice and looked out over the bay. It’s a small beach, the only other occupants being a bar to the right of the hotel, and a few villas to the left. It’s c. 500m from the hotel entrance to the main road, where you can find a supermarket. So theres really nothing where you can walk to, which might be an issue for some but its remoteness is a positive as it’s chaotic outside! A must is the Thai boxing, Thai dancing, Beach BBQ and Valentines Night meals. However a warning don’t buy the privilege card it’s a scam as I had a sizable balance on it at the end and it was not refunded. All the staff are amazing and very friendly, with smiles and bows all around, working all day to keep the grounds and rooms clean and guests comfortable. Everyone understands English and there was no problem communicating our wishes, be it a drive to pharmacy or the outstanding brand new hospital. Thanks Melati!

I have to say that this hotel is one of the most magical places that I have ever been to! My family (around 20 of us) and I went for my aunts 50th birthday and every staff member (not notably Bee, Kevin and Gigi) made us feel so at home and welcome and comfortable throughout our stay, we wish we could stay. The premises are gorgeous and the spa facilities worth every penny (I still dream of many of the massages and treatments I got), although we had an issue with the AC of the first room the staff were so swift and provided an upgraded room which was so spacious. Close to the main airport it is pretty well connected and the staff were super helpful with finding cabs. We had half board and the food was amazing, we got to also enjoy some cultural nights (with thai dancing and fire shows). Overall I would really reccomend this spot, everything was so perfect and I can't wait to go again!

The resort is at the northern part of Ko Samui where it is very silent and the beach is beautiful. Everything is beautiful, and the pool villas are perfectly constructed. Wonderful place to Relax and chill, you should get a scooter or a grab if you want to go around. The pool villas are very nice and good constructed. The total resort is very silent and you can be at the pool and on the beach or at your own pool. Beautiful. Could be five stars but unfortunately some important issues reduce the five star rating: 1. Breakfast is mediocre. Almost impossible to find something healthy. No milk alternatives, all dairy super sweet, overnight oats sugary and not overnight, eggs Benedict cold and dry and acidly (precooked in vinegar water). Fruit selection basic- always the same. More 3 than 5 2. The F&B service is partly motivated, English capabilities as well as speed is difficult. Order a drink or food to the pool or beach and be happy if the order is correct, but very probably it is wrong and the empty plates remain there until the evening comes. 3. No cold water at the pool which I never had in a five star 4. Our room cards were exchanged five times because not working. Imagine you need to see the bathroom or want a shower and need to wait 25 minutes or you need to go back to the reception far away or in the night… 5. Got a free massage for a longer booking. Happy I did not pay for it as it was a 2/5- got better massages at the beach but this is a lot of individual preference 6. Reception organized two motor scooters, which were 100% overpriced and in a bad shape. 7. The fight for sunbeds was a problem as many of them were already blocked in the morning, where the hotel needs to take care that those who do not get a sunbed while others are not there are not upset. 8. Fresh towels unfortunately had either a bad smoke stink or a moldy stink Four stars well granted but five stars requires more.

We travelled as a family ( 2 adult children) for a 6 night stay over New Year’s Eve, stayed in a family poll villa which was lovely and perfect for us , sadly weather was a bit hit and miss but nothing the hotel can do about that ! The hotel is a bit old but the gardens and the setting is fantastic , you are remote though so you have to get taxis if you want to get out and about not a problem though as hotel arrange for you , unfortunately for us we had a scooter accident New Year’s Eve which resulted in a 6 night hospital stay for me this mean’t family had to extend say at hotel , we cannot fault the hotel staff for their help and support over what ended up being a 3 week stay , they found us rooms though peak period and supported us though out, nothing was never too much for them , helping us with cancelling other hotels , bike hire return , taxis , special mention to ‘Noni’ sorry if wrong spelling , he was there every day helping up even coming with us to our transfer back to the airport to help with bags. Having been there 3 weeks and staying in 4 different rooms types feel like we know the hotel very well. I think it could do with a bit of a refresh some of the electrics and plumbing cause problems but what is in my opinion the most important thing in a hotel is the hospitality and I have to say every member of staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. Food was good and we ate in hotel quite a bit but we do like to go out so did get taxis to fisherman’s village 400bhat , 25 mins each way loads of choice there Did a day trip from the hotel tour rep in reception to pig island which was great Beach not huge but a nice cove , however due to the bad weather sea was rough and a lot of plastic debris deposited on beach , not a hotel problem but a global one ! However they cleared this as soon as it was washed up so always felt clean and nice All in all a great stay,
