Nestled along the dramatic Kohala Coast and in the piko, or center, of five great mountains, Mauna Lani is a sacred oasis where generations of families and friends have made memories together on soulful lands once cherished by the greatest of Hawaiian royalty. Greet the morning sun as it rises above the mountains' peaks from the seat of an outrigger canoe. Talk story with friends old and new at the Great Lawn as the sounds of ocean waves and laughter mingle. Dine amongst the company of loved ones at CanoeHouse, where locals have savored the island's bounty for decades. As you walk this storied coastline, breathe the rejuvenating salt air and swim in the crystalline waters, you feel the same mana, or spiritual energy, that first captivated legends like King Kamehameha I and Francis H. I'i Brown.
In the rooms you'll find an understated, natural décor that’s bright and refined, with ample hardwood, natural fabrics, and textures that embody the essence of the soulful Hawaiian escape. Our luxury residences are ideal for guests traveling with extended family and friends, or simply desire more space, and rooms located above our adult pool offer a haven for couples or those celebrating something special.

An actual dream location. The service is impeccable and stands out from some of the other incredible hotels we've stayed at throughout Hawaii. From the moment you enter the resort you feel completely taken care of by the friendly and kind staff, who will make you feel confident that the Mauna Lani is worth every penny.

Great property. Choose a north side (other side of pool side) for quieter stay. The Surf Shack was a hidden gem! Beachside, a view as good as the Canoe House (nice but grossly expensive) and the food was THE BEST of all 3 restaurants (they had just rolled out a new menu for spring) and the Mai Tai was excellent, UNLIKE the sugar mess disaster of the poolside Mai Tai (avoid, and $25!!) Morning beach yoga instructor (3-10/3-15 dates) was super great! Nice beach walk path allows you about a 15 min one way walk to the golf course south thru fish ponds and beaches.

On the big Island you have many choices, do not overlook the Mauna Lani, the amenities and staff are top notch. Exceeded our expectations in every way possible. They have two different work out facilities, be sure to check both of them out. The food, the Facilities, the staff, all 5 Star...

An excellent resort, comfortable and good sized rooms. We had an oceanfront, and it was right on the ocean, with a great view. The main restaurant (CanoeHouse) was one of the best meals of my life. THe staff was always kind and helpful. I didn't have time to enjoy many of the facilities, but what I saw was nice and well prepared. I would absolutely stay again if I go back to the Big Island.
