Welcome to The American Club Resort Hotel, a five-star, five-diamond hotel that has stood as an icon of gracious hospitality for over 100 years. Built in 1918 as a dormitory for single, male immigrant employees of Kohler, The American Club was reborn in 1981 as a five-star, five-diamond destination resort hotel. It retained its historic richness, storybook charm and a single level of quality that comes with everything bearing the Kohler name.

I love this place! The history itself is enough to make you want to go there. A late 1800s early 1900s brick building back from immigrant days and that's exactly who resided there. Now it is a wonderful five star five Diamond Resort with multiple restaurants, Golf courses, and a relaxing spot. If you go at Christmas time it is like a magical place.

Tops in every detail….room, service, restaurant, amenities. Customer service was awesome in every area…room stewards, front desk, bell services, concierge, restaurant staff…exceptional. Expected the best and received it from the beginning.

Our room reservation was totally fouled up despite having spent 20 minutes on the phone with their reservation specialist over a month before arriving. This was eventually corrected to my satisfaction but that is not the way to start what is supposed to be a relaxing weekend. Carriage House rooms are supposed to allow access for dining at River Wildlife. Don't bet on that, folks. No tables were available for the entire duration of our 3 day stay. Beware: Even if you are a guest in a suite in the Carriage House, you are required to purchase additional spa services in order to use the spa pool area on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. This, I can only conclude, is their definition of 5 star service; a well over thousand dollar per night room but with no pool access unless you buy a massage, pedicure, facial, etc. All in all, not even close to what I expect at this price point. Until their spa policy changes I will not return. Maybe not even then.

I was blown away by how welcoming everyone was at the American club! To add some context, I used to work at the American club, and I was coming back to celebrate my former coworkers engagement! When I came back, everyone, from the bellmen, to the Front Desk, to the Concierge, to the barista at the Greenhouse, to the host at the Black Wolf Run all remembered me which made me feel very welcomed. As a guest, I experienced first hand exceptional service when a worker at the Black Wolf Run Golf Shop went out of their way to get me mints after lunch, as they knew I was running late for my party. During my quick stay, I went to The Wisconsin Room for brunch, The Kohler Design Center, The Greenhouse Cafe, Sports Core, and Black Wolf Run for lunch. Each place offered the experience that I have had the past 23 times I have stayed here, thus, the American Club has, once again, created a memorable experience for me!

My wife and I had the opportunity to stay at The American Club in December- the hotel is like a winter wonderland! We stayed in the Herbert V. Kohler suite. It is very possibly the most luxurious hotel room I have ever stayed in. The bathrooms amaze with all the top end Kohler fixtures. We ate dinner one evening in The Wisconsin Room. The food was superb and the service was relaxed but so professional. The staff throughout the hotel was friendly, efficient, and helpful. My compliments on a hotel that impresses - even for a couple that has stayed in many ultra-luxury hotels.
