Nayara Gardens

This is a lovely, wonderful hotel! The casita was perfectly appointed, with a warm plunge pool, indoor & outdoor showers, peekaboo view of the volcano through the gorgeous jungle, and some wildlife visits right on our deck! The grounds throughout the 3 connected resorts (gardens, springs & tented camp) are all available to you so you can dine at any of the 4 restaurants and use any of the pools. The pool and restaurant at the tented camp was our favorite, and if we get the chance to return we’d probably try to stay in the tented camp - though we loved the Nayara Garden rooms so it’s a toss up. The on site hot springs are surrounded by the jungle, and even with a totally full hotel the springs were never crowded. I had a great volcano mud massage in one of the open air treatment rooms, it was absolutely beautiful & relaxing. The staff is very helpful & friendly, and with the help of the bellman we spotted a lot of wildlife on the golf cart rides (poison dart frogs, toads, snakes, sloths, birds, even an armadillo!). The property is hilly so they offer cart rides anywhere you want to go. The Nayara garden area is the most flat so that’s no problem to walk around yourself between the lobby/restaurant & your room, but if you’re going to the tented camp it’s a little steep. The only part of the gardens property that is a bit lacking is the pool, it’s small & shallow but fun for younger kids. The other 3 pools at tented camp and springs are better for lounging & light swimming. Two nice perks: laundry service is free, as is the mini bar! A couple tips: you don’t need a car, there are taxis and ubers, and i think driving yourself there seems a little rough. We booked a private van from the san jose airport (3 hours!) and it made a twisty, bumpy, remote ride more pleasant. The town of la fortuna wasn’t anything that interesting to us, but we had a great time on our activities: visiting the hanging bridges, white water rafting, and visiting the sloth territory. Go with a guide to have them help spot the wildlife. Overall a fantastic place to visit, we should have stayed longer than 5 nights.

Absolutely phenomenal experience!! First, the customer service is the best I have ever experienced. The staff was friendly, attentive and thoughtful! Second, the grounds and amenities were gorgeous! I never wanted to leave. The grounds are meticulously cared for and there is a new pool / restaurant / hot tub around every turn. You really never need to leave. Third, our room was amazing! We had our own hot tub, outdoor showers, huge bathroom and beautiful views on our massive back porch. Finally, the food was wonderful! Absolutely recommend the private romantic dinner! And the sushi was some of our favorite! I’m normally not the type to travel the same place twice, but I can’t wait to bring our kids back and try the Tented Camp with them!

Nayara Gardens lived up to the hype. One of the best resorts I’ve ever stayed at. The rooms, the grounds and most importantly, the people and their warmth is top notch. Everyone we came into contact with at Nayara was friendly, professional and committed to making sure we had a great experience. Can’t ask for anything more.

We stayed at the Nayara Gardens property, which is directly connected to both the Tented Camps and Springs properties. Since we travelled with our 10-year-old, we were not able to use the Springs facilities, but we definitely enjoyed the restaurant, pool and hot springs at the Tented Camps. It was all very seamless and easy to get around, either by walking or by the free golf cart transports. Our entire stay was incredible. The room (the octagon-shaped villa) was beautiful and spacious. The heated plunge pool was so special. The food at every meal was definitely a standout as well, all done at a very high level! We also did three excursions through the hotel with their own naturalist team. Mystic Hanging Bridges, the Lava Fields Walk and the early morning Bird Watching. All were extraordinary experiences - and so easy with their transport to/from and provided refreshments. The naturalist guides were so kind and knowledgeable. We didn't want to leave, but already are hoping to make a return trip one day!

I cant put into words how incredible our stay was! The property itself is spectacular, the service impeccable, the restaurants all superb, and Costa Rica is simply magical. Every single staff member at Nayara went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect. Kennar and Anthony really stood out and have us royal treatment. We booked all activities through them and everything was perfect. We had the best week of our lives and cant wait to come back again soon. Muchas Gracias Nayara and Costa Rica!
