Nayara Springs

TL;DR – Nayara Springs is truly a magical resort. Immersed within the rainforest's natural beauty, the resort is a destination in and of itself. And yet somehow this beauty is matched by the incredibly warm and family-like hospitality that is among the best we've experienced in many years of luxury travel. ___ Arrival and Departure We arranged transportation to and from Liberia airport through Nayara's helpful concierge prior to arrival. Both drivers (Henry and Kervin) were awesome, even making brief stops to make sure we could eat since our drives were during meal times. Despite the 3-hour drive, they made the time extremely comfortable and relaxed. We immediately felt at home upon arrival and check-in, welcomed with a drink and a tour of the grounds. Check out was fast and efficient; even though there were a couple unrecognized charges, they were able to resolve it quickly and without issue. ___ Room The Springs villa is breathtaking; an oasis within the resort paradise. We especially loved the private plunge pool, the spaciousness of the villa, and the outdoor shower. Housekeeping was thorough during the daytime cleaning and evening turn-down service. If you book through Amex FHR, note that all rooms at Nayara Springs are the same category, so there isn't any room upgrades available. The hotel has expansion plans, so that could change in the future. One minor issue arose when maintenance was needed on our hot spring pool, which impacted our ability to use it one day. However, resort manager, Karina, went above and beyond to ensure we were taken care of. Her generosity and quick action turned what could have been an inconvenience into a testament to Nayara’s exceptional service. ___ Facilities & Property The property itself is absolutely stunning, thoughtfully and organically integrated into its rainforest surroundings. Nayara Springs is connected to Tented Camp and Gardens, which makes it fun to explore the grounds of the Nayara property. We spent multiple days simply lounging at the different pools, thermal baths, and spaces across the three -- there was always something new to see. One of our favorite things to do was spotting the wildlife. Often from the comfort of a pool day bed, we could spot sloths, giant iguanas, toucans, and many other wildlife. On the way home from dinner, we mentioned to our cart driver William that we enjoyed seeing animals. Once he heard this, he immediately offered to take us to a spot on property where frogs could frequently be found; we felt like we were on an ad hoc nature tour as he pointed out dozens of different kinds of frogs. For the rest of the week whenever we saw William, he'd go out of his way to show us nearby wildlife he spotted - another testament to the amazing hospitality of all the staff. ___ Dining The food at Nayara was wonderful and there is a lot of variety across the 3 resorts. The hotel makes an effort to source all food locally and around Costa Rica, making everything taste very fresh. Our standout dinner experience was Amor Loco – a 7-course dinner that highlighted Costa Rican ingredients. We didn't have a bad meal during our stay! Breakfast is included with the room, which we usually had at Mis Amores. Look out for Carlos, who was one of the most friendly and hospitable servers we had during the trip. Even though we're not coffee connoisseurs, we found the coffee on property to be amazing. Everything is sourced locally and then roasted and ground on site. Out of curiosity, I asked the barista, Diana, about the roasting process, which ended with her offering me samples of different types of espresso so I could experience the different types! ___ Activities & Excursions We booked the canyoning excursion through the resort, which was run by Pure Trek. The experience was a lot of fun, and despite being in a group of 15+ people, we didn’t feel rushed. Even as someone that doesn't like heights, it was a lot of fun and felt safe the whole time. The spa was another highlight. Integrated into the rainforest, we could hear the nature all around us -- it was incredibly relaxing! Given the type of massage package we booked, ours was at the new Tented Camp spa, which was state-of-the-art and beautiful. We also did a cooking class, which was a lot of fun! One of our instructors, Rene, noticed how much we loved the Costa Rican hot sauce and thoughtfully gifted us a small bottle. If you're looking to maintain your fitness routine, there's a well stocked gym, complete with a good selection of weight training equipment. The resort offers complimentary yoga classes most mornings. ___ Overall Service The hospitality of the staff at Nayara is top notch, among the best we've experienced in many luxury stays around the world. Everyone we interacted with seemed genuinely invested in making our stay feel special, whether it was a cart driver or resort management. There are so many more little stories I wish I could include in this review. From decorating the villa for our anniversary, to the attention to detail in remembering our interests and preferences, the staff left an impression that we will not soon forget! There is a long list of people who made our stay amazing, but just to name a few, special shout-outs to Cesar (Amor Loco pool), Carlos (Mis Amores), William (cart driver), and Karina (Manager). Thank you for making our special stay one we will always remember!

What a fantastic week we had at Nayara Springs! Our villa was beyond luxurious with our most comfy canopied king bed which looked out at our private hot springs fed plunge pool. The staff was attentive and friendly and greeted us by name every day. They attended to our every need quickly and with a friendly smile, whether delivering ice or breakfast to our villa, offering laundry service or helping plan wonderful outings. We won't soon forget the outstanding Nayara Springs staff for their friendliness and also for pointing out the sloths and monkeys on the grounds which we would have missed. So cool! Thank you all!

Our stay was fantastic! Mr. Nelson at the front desk was extremely helpful and made sure we had everything we needed. The food at all the restaurants was outstanding, and they even made special accommodations to suit our requirements. The outdoor areas were lush, beautifully maintained, and added to the overall relaxing ambiance. A thoughtful touch was that Mr. Nelson had small gifts for us to take home, making our experience even more special. We truly enjoyed our time here and would highly recommend it!

Fantastic service and experience. Quite perfect place for our 25 th wedding anniversary. We slept well And we’re just overwhelmed with the beauty of the property and all the amenities. We visited coffee, cocoa, farm as well as toured the area around the volcano and rode the zip lines.

Loved the hotel, beautiful property, incredibly relaxing, great food and most importantly fantastic staff. The personalised check-in service was excellent. Although incredibly difficult to pick just one person, I must, Jose, the bartender was fantastic, he made our stay.
