Surf & Sand Resort

We stayed in Rm 190, "Top of the Surf" w/ our dog and multiple packed bags & 6 boxes of irreplaceables like my dad's immigration papers & my mom's horse brush painting. Everyone here was AMAZING, especially the valets who kept watch on our fully packed cars. We will be visiting & staying here again under less dire circumstances!!

We were so thankful to the entire Surf and Sand team for accommodating us during the LA Fires. We had a dog and they waived all fees and gave us a discounted rate. But more important, the staff and front desk and the valets were so wonderful. We ate at splashes with our dog and had a lovely dinner. Can’t recommend this hotel enough. It’s a special spot.

You would never know this hotel is in the middle of a renovation. They’ve finished 1/2 and it’s amazing. The staff was insanely nice and helpful. The room accommodations were fantastic. You could watch the sunset from anywhere in the room (even the bathtub). And and let’s talk about the food for a minute. We had lunch by the pool and dinner at Splashes and I’ll have to say it was one of, if not the best dinners I’ve ever had. The chef is absolutely amazing. If I could complain about something it would be that we couldn’t stay longer. Cheers

WOW! The only way to describe our stay. We were planning on flying out but wanted to stop in Laguna for our last lunch. The valets were so friendly and helped us with our 2 small kids while we got situated. The friendly concierge Angela offered to take a family photo off their stunning lobby balcony - and not just 1 she was entertaining our toddler and trying to get his best side too. I overheard her helping entertain a few other young guests with crayons and printing photos for coloring. At Splashes we were warmly greeted and our servers Alma and Marco were incredibly hospitable as well as knowledgeable. We were blown away by how much flavor the octopus and ahi nachos have. Just wow. We were so impressed we decided to extend our stay. Front desk manager Salvador helped us find a room and pulled out all the stops to accommodate our 2 kids with a play tent, sleeping bag, and s’mores! Amenities for mom + dad celebrating our wedding anniversary well. The rooms are stunning - completely brand new with updated luxuries like lighting, HVAC, hefty Oceanside balcony doors, and other great touches that I’ll leave as surprises to other guests. The pool staff was so helpful in getting beach toys for us and safe guarding our belonging while we were down the by water. In room dining was surprisingly fresh and tasty - great fresh fruit and roasted veggies. Only tiny knock is that Splashes doesn’t permit takeout so we missed out on trying the lobster bisque and artisan sourdough like we wanted while our kids were sleeping in our room. And the fire alarm was malfunctioning so it went went off twice during the night so we had to haul our kids out of bed and down the stairs - hopefully that gets remedied quickly. Other than that, THANK YOU to the wonderfully welcoming staff for making our stay memorable and comfortable too. Salvador was truly the star of our stay!

The resort offers magnificent views of and closeness to the beach, and friendly and professional staff all around. The dinner at Splashes was superb with very tasty food, fine wines and good value. The rooms were spacious, beautiful and clean. We rented a car and used valet at the resort and the staff was very helpful every time we pick up and return the car. Only setback was some parts of the resort are still being renovated so we couldn't enjoy the spa or the bar facing the beach, but even then, there were no issues of noises or inconvenience from the construction. Overall the resort provided us with a fantastic experience especially sleeping every night to the sound of the ocean!!
