Montage Kapalua Bay

Absolutely spectacular!! My wife and three young boys just concluded a 10 night stay in a 2BR suite at the Montage Kapalua Bay. Expectations were exceeded with a true 5 star experience. Staff were exceptional, professional, kind and willing to go out of their way to make the stay special. Leif, one of the Montage professionals at the pool, was extraordinarily attentive and was always looking out for the interests of our kids (checking in, finding beach/pool toys, etc.). Similarly, the staff at both restaurants and the pool couldn’t have been more professional and kind. The pool was immaculate, and the beach was a few short steps away (which our 2 year old could easily handle). The suite has every amenity one could expect in a 5 star resort, with stellar housekeeping. Will positively return so long as the price point (which is already high) doesn’t dramatically change.

Just a note to set expectations if you come here for the first time after other Montage experiences. We have been to 4 others. They were all amazing. But this one doesn’t live up to 5 star service. Solidly multiple notches below the others for service and food. Entrance and staff at the front. Very good. Expected level. Housekeeping. Same The food was meh at best. After the first day we started leaving the resort to eat. To compare. Cabo. Healdsburg. South Carolina. The food was a highlight. They brought us a $30 fruit boat with nasty fruit and then didn’t say anything when we left most of it in there. Pool attendants and service also meh. Same with spa area. If it was a three star resort I would rate it higher. But for a 5 star. Not even close to what I would expect.

We usually stay at the Ritz but decided to try the Montage. Best decision ever!! Our two bedroom suite was spectacular! We had everything we needed in our suite including laundry room, balcony ocean view, full kitchen, etc. The Montage provides the best customer service throughout the resort. Jeremy is amazing! We will definitely return!

We had an incredible stay at the Montage! The service is impeccable from the moment you arrive. The rooms are enormous and equipped with full kitchens and washers/dryers (plus all the soap you need). That was such a nice feature as we were traveling with a 3 year old. The housekeeping team is amazing, doing twice daily cleaning and always leaving us tons of clean towels. The concierge team expertly fielded my many requests, including helping with spa reservations, getting a rollaway bed in our room, and connecting us with an instructor for swim lessons for our daughter. The in room dining team could not have been nicer, and they always delivered food very quickly. We had two incredible dinners at Cane and Canoe (they just rolled out a new menu that was fantastic). The poolside drinks were delicious (but pricey), and the poolside staff were so friendly. The bay bordering the hotel has great snorkeling. The hotel also has a shuttle system where they give you rides in the Kapalua area in their Cadillac SUV, which was so convenient. I had an amazing massage. The only negative was the poolside lunch food was hit or miss. We would absolutely stay here again.

Had a wonder anniversary trip with my wife. The property was absolutely stunning and the accommodations were out of this world. With that being said the stand out part was the service. Everybody was extremely friendly and always smiling. Lief stood out and we were happy that he helped us out each day by the pool. He was always professional, attentive, and had us laughing from our first day up until our departure. We will be back every chance we get.
