Villa & Palazzo Aminta

This hotel is truly a dream the location has stunning views and the hotel is very beautiful, well appointed and luxurious, the rooms are plush, the bed really comfortable and the rooms are pristine. The marble bathroom complete with bidet was luxurious with all the extras, robes, slippers, shoe shine, mouth wash and a suite of exquisite Aqua Di Parma smelling products for your ablutions that you could expect from a 5 star hotel. The pool, terraces, and gardens are very beautiful, pretty and scenic, an Eden. The food is excellent and all the staff are just wonderful, really helpful, and very friendly it made our holiday very special. It was easy to visit all the islands from Stresa, just catch on off ferry and spend time at your leisure, we visited them all, and fell in love with Isola Bella, we also went to the wonderful tropical gardens and villa at Verbania , as well as locations around the lake, Balveno, Lavenna and more, we also took the train to Locarno, a really beautiful location in Switzerland on the lake, we took a scenic ferry ride back. We also took the train the to Milan and visited the Cathedral and the fort both well worth a visit, the shopping is of course execellent, the hotel helped with all of our trips. Icing on the cake it was my husbands birthday as he received a birthday cake, it was such a lovely gesture, it says it all really. The hotel and the team made our holiday, very special it is a wonderful place to stay.

Fabio, the General Manager, is simply one of the best people I’ve ever met—warm, welcoming, and genuinely caring with all guests. The entire team makes you feel like royalty, creating unforgettable memories in a stunning setting. Highly recommended for an extraordinary getaway!

Possibly the best hotel for a stay at Lake Maggiore! Hotel Villa e Palazzo Aminta is a gorgeous hotel in Stresa, perched with stunning views over Lake Maggiore and especially of the Isole Bella, Isole Madre and Isole Pescatore. The hotel itself is sumptuously furnished and there is plush comfort and beauty at every turn. Our room had full views of Lake Maggiore with a beautiful balcony, and the room could not be faulted for cleanliness and attention to detail. The staff were always attentive, friendly and helpful. The food at both restaurants (the bistrot and the formal dining) was excellent, and the breakfast buffet was one of the best we have experienced. We also enjoyed the live pianist who performs in the evenings for dinner, this added a lovely ambience. The hotel facilities were absolutely wonderful, especially the spa. And they even had a dedicated shuttle service to take you into the village centre at various times of the day. We spent 3 fantastic, relaxing days at Villa Aminta and would absolutely recommend it to anyone who visits Stresa.

What a truly wonderful experience. One of the best places we have ever stayed. It is old, but well taken care of. Everything is beautiful, ornate, and fantastic. Our small suite overlooking the lake had a magnificent view of the islands which we watched the sun come up over every morning. The staff was what you would expect in a first rate place, after the first day they know your name, your room number, and what you like to drink! The food in the restaurants is excellent, with a breakfast every morning with nearly anything you could conceive (and many very Italian things that were wonderful. ) We had the opportunity to stay at the Passalacqua (voted best hotel in the world by some publication) on lake Como last spring, and frankly the Villa Aminta really isn't a step down in any way. It is a short drive from Milan and/or Torino, and I would suggest this property to anyone wanting to get a bit away and enjoy a beautiful surrounding and impeccable service. 6 stars!!

Beautiful hotel full of great character. Great welcoming service. Good location outside Stresa but with a courtesy bus into town.
