Nice hotel subpar and impolite service

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

Very nice location and nice hotel overall, with subpar front desk service considering the price. Upon arrival and seeing the room ( which overlooked the rooftops of the building and very little view of the lake), We wanted to change the room for better view and they charged for that minor upgrade on the same floor for a slightly worse room due to availability, and without letting us see the room before we commit to the change- something I had never encountered in over 20 years of intensive world travel. So front desk service was uptight and subpar but the hotel and room overall are good.

No elevator but nice outside lawn area on the water

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

Stayed in the Lake view lodge on the water. Nice room but no elevator. Must descend flight of stairs with luggage to rooms below the parking lot. Nice pool area and you can relax in chairs watching boats on Mirror Lake. Easy walking distance to restaurants and shops. Can get complimentary coffee and cookies at main lobby of hotel across the street.

Very nice adult family getaway

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 months ago

This seems to be one of the best resorts in the area. We stayed at the main lodge which seemed to be the nicest of the three locations that are part of the resort. Family of four including two adult boys. The weather was not great but we had a nice time. Spent much of our time golfing. The accommodations have the feel of a ski lodge. It was nice to have free use of pedal boats, kayaks and paddle boards. Plenty of pedal boats available but harder to get kayaks and paddle boards. They were not available when we tried to get them. My husband used the one person kayak. The resort was clean and people very friendly. I would highly recommend. The lakefront looked nice for younger families who want to be right on the water with the pool over looking the lake. The Lakehouse itself (I think that’s the name) that had the indoor pool looked to be the least desirable. The pool table in the rec room had sticks with no tips and duplicate pool balls (eg 3-13’s, 2-14’s etc.) but had an even number of solids and stripes. The indoor pool and hot tub seemed fine but not very inviting. Small little downtown with shops and restaurants. Very nice to visit for a long weekend (we stayed Saturday through Wednesday). There was coffee and tea served in lobby each morning and warm cookies in the afternoon with lemonade which was a very nice touch.

Terrific!

Great location! I stayed in the main building. Rooms clean and nicely appointed. Staff very welcoming and super friendly!! Loved the champagne upon check in! Complementary coffee/tea in morning and afternoon cookies and lemonade and infused water were such a pleasant touch!! The pools were clean and refreshing. Yoga on Sat with Noelle was awesome! The water toys down at the lake were a hit with the whole family! Had lunch at Dancing Bears and it was really good. Only complaints were : 1) the hallways were warm (no AC) and didn’t smell fresh 2) it’s a bit of a hike to get to Main St level from the main building. An elevator to street level would be welcomed, especially for older folks. Right now you have to go thru Dancing Bears restaurant (a lot of stairs) or up/down the hill …..it’s possible that this is a temporary issue because of the renovation of a stairway at present time. All in all it was a terrific holiday and I’d return in a heartbeat!!

First time and a Great Experience !

The hotel was beautiful. The room was spotless and upscale. The bathroom was clean and up to date. The shower had a nice large bench in it. The products were of good quality. The hotel employees were very nice and helpful. One block to shopping and restaurants! We will definitely be back!
