Escape to a gorgeous Hawaiian retreat with lush and spectacular gardens, stables, clay shooting, countryside views - all hidden away on Hawaii's private island of Lanai. There comes a moment during a vacation where you let out a sigh and think, "This is why I love vacations." At Four Seasons Resort Lana'i, The Lodge at Koele that moment happens as soon as your car pulls up to the Hotel.

The property is absolutely gorgeous. Everything from the gardens, to the architecture and private spa hales are designed for ultimate peace and relaxation. Expert instructors lead a wide selection of free health classes every day. Make sure to book time in the spa hales which are truly special. However, we did run into service issues during our stay: 1. Avoid using the in-room iPad for service requests. We would regularly have to wait 30min+ for a response for requests made via the iPad chat function. 2. We were told by the front desk that third party taxi services were the best way to get to the Cat Sanctuary. We asked for help setting that up and they gave us a sticky note with a phone number to call. That number went to voicemail, so they gave us another sticky note with a number to call. We were eventually able to coordinate a ride ourselves, but the whole process left us disappointed. The Four Seasons is supposed to be synonymous with excellent service and we were given two phone numbers and told to essentially figure it out ourselves. 3. We scheduled a $90 smores experience to take place after our dinner on Saturday night at Sensei by Nobu. The dining experience team told us they would let the restaurant staff know so that we could go straight from dinner to smores. Dinner came and went and no one mentioned anything to us, so we walked to the front desk after dinner to see what was going on. Front desk called the dining experience team who said they had been calling our room and asked why we weren’t picking up. We weren’t picking up because we were at dinner…odd because they knew we would be at dinner when we booked the experience. After a delay, they were eventually able to get it set up for us. This really is a beautiful resort retreat. However, cannot wholeheartedly recommend to friends/family because of the service issues we faced. Hopefully our experience was an exception and not the norm.

If you are looking for a wellness getaway with a backdrop that literally makes it look like you are in a movie, out of this world spectacular and surreal, you’ve found the right place. I am absolutely enchanted by this establishment- the garden itself is a site to behold and you can spend hours just walking through and admiring the lushness - listening to the gentle sounds and smelling the beautiful flowers. On top of that, the staff has been so wonderful, informative and accommodating. I requested a room change and they didn’t bat an eye- helped me move all my belongings swiftly and with a smile. You don’t get better than that. I’ve been taking yoga, mindfulness classes, meditation, soaking in warm bath, and more. I’m having the most life changing experience. If you are thinking about doing this for yourself, my advice is do it. You will enjoy the friendliness and warmth from the incredible staff, the stunning environment of this property and outstanding amenities. Thank you so much Four Seasons Sensei. I can’t wait to come back.

Sensei on Lanai was the most beautiful and peaceful experience that we have ever had on a vacation. The hotel staff were all excellent, the grounds were impressive, the activities were all amazing! We had daily messages in our private hales, walk and tours around the grounds, skeet shooting, jeep tour, hiking, biking, a fantastic pool, meditations by the lake, wonderful restaurants and so much more!! Can’t wait to return!!

Most luxurious and serene destination in Hawaii. The high-touch service we experienced here has only be rivaled by the Shangri-La in Paris. Every moment is considered, from your arrival via private plane, to shuttles to and from the resort, to elimination of plastic or single use items, to the immaculate grounds, truly an oasis in paradise.

The experience at this resort was really better for people who want peace and not focused on food and beverages. The spa is very nice. The yoga classes are focused around true beginners or elderly. There are no real work outs there unless you choose a hike. The beds are amazing. Very nice experience with the rooms. The service is beyond slow but the people are very friendly.
