I am currently staying in this hotel. I felt I had to write a review to provide clarity and balance to the poor reviews of the hotel that I have read. Staff at reception were very welcoming and courteous, helpful and professional and we enjoyed a welcome cava and beer. I have had 3 joint replacements and asked for a room that would be near to the facilities of the hotel. The reception staff obliged and we were given a room in a perfect location on the ground floor beside the main pool and near to the main restaurant. We did not hear any disturbances from any other room and found the room very comfortable. The housekeeping staff did an exceptional job of keeping the room scrupulously clean and restocked with water and lovely toiletries. We were on a bed and breakfast option and ate in the buffet restaurant. Again, no complaints, plenty of variety, continuous availability of cooked options along with English bacon rashers which was of a very high quality. Staff again were courteous and efficient in a busy restaurant. The outside area , pools and sunbeds are really beautiful and waiter staff do circulate the pool to offer drinks or you can go to the Bluewater grill to get your own. The harbour at Calera is a 15 minute walk along a coastal path with access directly from the hotel. It is slightly up and down but I found it manageable with my mobility restrictions . There are a good variety of restaurants at the marina all with fairly good trip advisor scores. The path is very well lit up for walking back later in the evening. We also took the public bus (161 airport bus) to Playa Blanca . The stop is a 25 minute walk from the hotel on the other side of the marina , takes 25 minutes on the bus and cost about 5 euros per adult for a return trip. The evening entertainment is inside and is set out with rows of chairs like a theatre. It is on every night from 9.30pm to 10.30pm. This was not really our cup of tea but was well attended so obviously an enjoyable event for a lot of the clients! Overall I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel. We will be sorry to leave in 2 days!☹️

Went to the spa and had 2 facials during the week, Esperenza gave me both treatments and I can't express how amazing they were. She took me into a blissful trance. I highly recommend a facial. Was perfect in every way possible. It as very relaxing and I feel like a completely different person after the treatments

Lovely hotel with amazing views. The hotel is situated in Puerto Calero overlooking the sea and mountains/volcanos. Hotel is in a quiet area with a short walk to the marina, which is worth a visit for shops/restaurants and cafes. I would suggest an upgrade on rooms. Initially we had a room overlooking a car park and I didn't feel that the decor was of a good standard. Once moved the rest holiday was amazing as was the room. I want to say a massive 'Thank You' to Isabel from guest relations who was really helpful, understanding and attentive. We found the food to be good with lots of choice everyday. The beds are amazing and so comfortable. Staff are very polite and helpful. The Spa is worth a visit as the pool has lots of hydro massagers and other amenities in the pool area. Check out the relaxation room and chill room with tea/coffee and snacks. Try and do the walk from the hotel across the hills alongside the coastline. Views are so pretty. All in all, really enjoyable and relaxing.

Just back from 6 nights at Secrets Lanzarote and would recommend it to anyone looking for quality and relaxation. I chose B&B option as I wanted the flexibility to eat out and would definitely recommend upgrading to Preferred Club - there are extra benefits and the main one for me was the Lounge, open during the day with snacks/fruit/ tea/coffee/cava/soft drinks - on a couple of days I didn't bother with lunch elsewhere as I found what was on offer in the lounge sufficed. With Preferred Club you also get to have breakfast in the Portofino Restaurant. Service generally was excellent, with a very friendly and helpful staff. You are greeted on arrival with cava and a cold towel, and you are escorted personally to your room. I was particularly impressed by the reception staff - an elderly gentleman who arrived on the same coach as me somehow fell down some steps and the staff all rushed to assist him, and a medic was on hand very quickly too. It delayed my check-in but I was so impressed by how the staff helped the gentleman, I do hope he was OK. Good choice of restaurants, and I particularly liked that you don't have to book. I went to the World Cafe (buffet restaurant) a couple of times and there was a good choice and good quality (seem to have themed evenings, one night was Chinese other was Mexican). Portofino was excellent for pasta & pizza, and I had a lovely veal steak in the Bluewater Grill. In the a la carte restaurants you are welcomed with a complimentary glass of cava which is a nice touch. Breakfast in Portofino was generally very good - you are offered a choice of tea/coffee & fresh orange juice and I liked to be brought an individual pot of tea. Great selection of fruits, cereals, breads, cold meats. The hot selection is not great, but you can order eggs/omelettes which were lovely. A good choice of pools and the spa was excellent - with preferred club you get 1hr complimentary visit. Puerto Calero is fairly quiet but there are a fair few restaurants & bars, and it's only a leisurely 10 minute walk. The marina is lovely and there is a small market on Tuesdays & Fridays which were really good. I also did the cliff walk to Puerto del Carmen which is only 2-3 miles and a nice walk, and took the water bus back. A good choice of English speaking TV channels (all the main terrestrial ones). The hotel was spotlessly clean and being constantly maintained. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for relaxing luxury, it's not for partying

Just returned home after a 6 day stay here. It's not 5 star quality. Usually greeted on arrival at the door, to take luggage, but this doesn't happen here as the reception isn't at the main doors. Check-in was smooth, greeted by a lovely, bubbly man who showed us to our room. The room was ok, again, not 5 stars. We had to ask for a heater as it was so cold in the room. We were originally told they had none as they had run out, so I asked for a duvet instead. But a heater arrived instead! The hotel/pool scene was inviting, but we never laid around the pool as the weather wasn't great. And the pool was cold. We stayed on B&B , and you are shown to a table by the lady on the door, we never knew if we had to ask a waiter for tea/coffee or not. No one came unless I asked them. Then they would deliver the supposedly hot water for the tea, but it was only just warm where it had been sitting on the side for however long! Some mornings there were plenty of eggs sitting on the sides, sometimes there were none, and just one person manning the whole station. Entertainment was shocking. You're lined up like you're in a theatre . It lasts an hour! This hotel is probably geared up for the over 65's! Puerto Calero marina is lovely, with a few restaurants. We went into Playa Blanca one day, which is a really nice place and worth a trip to. I would not return to this hotel.
