One of my worst hotel experiences, ever. Attending a conference here. The valet service was a joke. Pulled up to the entrance. 3 guys just stood there. I tried to get them to help my wife and me. No luck. My wife unloaded half of our luggage, by herself….while the 3 valet guys stood there and watched, then the valet driver took our vehicle and drove off WITH HALF OUR LUGGAGE STILL IN THE VEHICLE! Finally we got to the check in desk. Another joke. Walked up to one of the agents….he walked away…didn’t say a word. His shift was over. Only 2 agents left….and a quickly increasing number of customers trying to check in. So, I called the hotel while waiting to check in. Told them about my experience. Was transferred to someone with some authority. He apologized. Finally, we got checked in. Waited another 5-10 minutes for the bellman to arrive to take our luggage to the room. Can’t make this stuff up folks. Finally, got to our room. The room had no refrigerator. Wow. That’s a qualification I have for where I stay. There was a small fridge full of alcoholic drinks but no room for anything else. Then we went to one of their restaurants. Kassie I believe it was called. No hostess. Waited at least 5 minutes. Hostess finally arrived. Seated us. We waited another 5+ minutes. No one came to our table. So…we got up and left. Was looking forward to staying at a Virgin hotel. What a disappointment.

We have just got back from spending a week at the Virgin Hotel in Las Vegas and honestly it’s a nice hotel but could do so much better. We decide to book a week away in which to marry and honeymoon. Arriving on the Wednesday evening we were greeted by Jason checking us in. Just starting his shift, he was totally un-engaging as he checked us in. We went up to the room and were very impressed with it. The room itself was spacious, there was a sofa and also a make-up table in the hallway. The Tv itself, as we found was a bit hit and miss, we can only come to the conclusion that the channels ran off the internet and kept freezing and also the sound was limited to prevent noise complaints, but hey-ho we weren’t there for the tv. One thing that totally let the room down was the view, now this was a bugbear of mine of which I was stopped by the now wife in going and asking if there was something better. The view out of the 5th floor was of the multi-storey car park one side and the roof of part of the complex on the other. It was not very attractive and if you stay in room 30501 just be warned. The hotel itself is a little way from the strip, but walkable if you desire. We brought a bus pass for the duration of our stay and walked to the top of the road and caught a bus from there, (the pass also covers the deuce bus up and down the strip). The hotel has taxis available and has a lift share for Ubers/Lyft (Ubers range from $12-$22 to the strip) The hotel also contains multiple car parks which were apparently free of charge. During our stay, the first night we were shepherded around the detours due to the last night of a conference. We thought fine it was the last night, but to our surprise there was another conference a couple of days later and this was a big one (literally Monster!), which massively impacted our stay. We felt like second rate citizens whilst this conference took place and whilst the hotel bent over backwards for them, we were pretty much ignored. Certain areas of the hotel were out of bounds, like the garden, whilst the conference took over. Certain restaurants were private only for conference guests as well. This is definitely one to bear in mind if you are looking to book this hotel. We even at one point got asked why we weren't wearing our lanyards and seemed surprised when we explained that we weren't apart of the conference. Other facilities such as the pools look lovely, during our stay it was in the 30’s and come the weekend there was little chance of a sun-bed unless you got to the pool super early! I mention pool as opposed to pools as during our stay only 1 was open which did perplex us slightly considering the were multiple sat closed and the main pool was super busy. The main pool offers hireable cabanas at a whopping $150 per day, there is also a pool bar and menu which was also quite pricey. On the Friday and Saturday a second pool was opened at Kassi beach club, this was not free to hotel guests but charged a premium of which external guests were allowed to book day beds and cabanas at extortionate prices. Surprisingly enough the pool wasn’t overly that busy. We found the casino very hit or miss, mostly during the days it was very quiet, this could have been its norm or due to the conference, but even the staff looked bored. During our stay we looked at the offerings of the restaurants, there seemed to be a few offerings and probably something for everyone’s taste, but the prices seemed on the higher sides and dining in a empty restaurant wasn’t really our style. The funny library coffee shop was located at the base of the opal tower. The drip coffee sufficed for us at $4, if you wanted something more, like a cappuccino or latte, you were looking at around $7 which was pretty expensive. For breakfast we found that Pizza forte had just started an offering and was $5.95 for a superb protein bowl and $2 for a drip coffee, the staff in here were all extremely friendly and looked after us especially the lady who did the graveyard shift and Stephen. Other offerings such as Dunkin were also available, but were $2-3 more expensive than the one across the street. The hotel shop was also highly priced and we saw on multiple occasions people arriving back with drinks from CVS and 7-11 from across the road. The hotel does offer some entertainment from what we understood, none of which was explained to us and all seemed to be at an extra cost. During our stay there seemed to be a big GloRilla concert on, of which the hotel seemed to have a lot of locals turn out for. We decided to go elsewhere for the evening and on our return were met by a big police presence at the hotel and what seemed like a sour atmosphere. We decided to retire to our room for the evening. The hotel advertises its Lucy app, of which you can apparently have digital keys and the view bills etc. Except the Vegas one isn’t listed. It also mentions that is apart of the Hilton honours club, but again we were unable to collect points. The hotel seems very confused in its identity. Overall the Virgin hotel is ok. Whether it was I set my expectations to high or whether the hotel had more pressing matters on like conferences, it turned out to be an “okish” vacation. I think if I was to return to Vegas though, we would look at somewhere closer to/on the strip.

Everything was actually good on my solo weekend away, until I checked out of my room and noticed that I was billed $300 for smoking in my room. I DO NOT SMOKE nor did anyone enter my room other than the maid. The room smoke detector (FreshAir company) showed a print out of high levels of weed/cigarette smoke at 7 am one morning. I did not smell anything and if I had I would have most likely complained as I had a non smoking room. Unfriendly Front Desk Management refused to believe me and would not reverse this $300 cleaning fee and told me to work with my credit card company. I' ve since checked reviews online and seen multiple reviews that others have been falsely accused of smoking in their room when they have not. I was giving virgin a 2nd chance staying at the hotel as the time prior they were all on strike making it a dissapointing vacation stay. I will not be staying here ever again and do not recommend it to the anyone.

When my husband and I visit Las Vegas a couple times a year, this is the hotel that we prefer for our stay. The beds are extremely comfortable, and the pillows are amazing! We enjoy the overall atmosphere of this hotel compared to many others in the city and love the selection of restaurants and shops on site, especially The Kitchen at Commons Club. The restaurant staff is the BEST and the food is so delicious, any time of the day or night. We also love the vibe of Lucia Mexican Grill! If you're in the mood to sit outside and enjoy the breeze along with your drinks or meal, this is the spot for you! I do however, have one complaint during our most recent stay. On 3 different occasions I ordered items/services and not one was fulfilled, nor did anyone contact me regarding the requests. I requested additional towels (there were only 2 bath towels in our room), Laundry service, additional hangers, and personal products in a total of 3 separate requests. I'm extremely disappointed that none were fulfilled. After the second request, I attempted to locate one of the housekeeping staff to assist me and found one very kind lady a few doors down but unfortunately, due to a language barrier, she could not and did not help me. The next evening I approached another housekeeping staff member and she was able to give me more towels. Although I do appreciate the extra help from the staff on our floor that were able to assist in some capacity, there were needs that were left untouched. I understand that the hotel team is very busy and there are many guests with needs and wants, but if they are not able to accommodate then please remove the option from the system on the TV. Will we stay at Virgin Hotels again? Yes, absolutely! Do I expect better service in these areas? Yes, absolutely!
