Reverence for the old and the brand spanking new are perfectly combined in this wonderful hotel. Situated at the foot of the mountains on the smartest street in Lech, lights twinkle as gleaming Riedel wine glasses chink in the Panorama dining room. This is a little piece of heaven, such a lovely elegant mix of floor to ceiling glass with wool banquettes, so cosy and modern all at once. The staff here are remarkable, some with decades of service, others earning their stripes in the industry learning their craft, led by the very hands on Moosbrugger Family owners. Sandra Moosbrugger takes care of every detail personally, hosting delightful champagne receptions for guests and happily mopping the hotel reception floor so it’s clean as a whistle, she runs a classy ship with timeless style. This is a foodie hotel with so many gastronomic moments and offerings to savour and explore, breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner are all served in superb spaces accompanied by interesting and sublime wine choices. The family have their own vineyard so the Austrian wine offerings are particularly special, being close to their hearts. This hotel houses a large pristine spa with gorgeous outdoor pool, so if like me you don’t care to ski, many happy hours can be whiled away in its temple of wellness, held in by the shouldering mountains. Out on the high street the delights of Stroltz department store await if you need new Choo’s, or full service ski boots and for the Soul there’s James Turrell’s SKYSPACE Lech, an immersive sculptural experience, a light room up in the mountains which is open to the heavens. We plan to return to this wonderful hotel at least once each year for the rest of our days, it is a high class home from home, which has claimed a place in our hearts.

Tragic aftertaste... 2024-02-29, we had dinner with the whole family at their seemingly nice restaurant, a pleasant experience despite a bit arrogant staff. Later in the night at about 00:30 3 of us started to feel really sick and throw up profusely, this went on for more than 24 hours. My son ate half of his schnitzel and me and my daughter tasted his schnitzel, my wife who didn't taste it didn't get sick. I can say with certainty that the schnitzel was what made us sick. When my wife went to speak to the management she was treated arrogantly, they had no understanding they just said they serve 100's of schnitzels and offered her 50euro!! You can keep the money, she said and finally left. I think the least they could have done is show understanding for our complaint and at least offered to refund the entire bill (220 euros). We have had 2 whole days ruined by this. Terrible.

We stayed here for one week during February. The service was great, especially the service from Majid. He was very kind and so helpful during our whole stay! The tea-time with him feels like coming home. We really enjoyed our entire stay here.

There hotel is beautifully clean and the rooms seem reasonably well appointed. The half board dinner was pretty good - even if the second course seemed to be a drink of orange/melon or similar. But that is where it stops really. The host claims to be 'passionate about hospitality' but we found this far from the case. The online check in, although the website saids it worked, it did not and reception were not helpfu - asking for dates of birth out loud so the receptionist can plug it into his iPad was not best practice by any means, Our initial quick tour included the fitness room although 2/3 of the machines did not work and the staff's comments suggested that this was a long-standing issue. We stayed for nearly a week in a mid-priced room and we asked for a nespresso/coffee machine. "No you can't have one as you are not in a suite" OK - but essentially this means the hotel is saying 'we know what you want to be happy and we have it but we are just not going to give it to you". Thanks! PS if you look on the website you won't find mention of a coffee machine in any room. This attitude pretty much prevailed throughout our stay. On check out it was pouring with rain (thunderstorm in progress) - did reception offer an umbrella? You can guess the answer! Lots more to say but in summary does this deserve to be #42 in hotels in Lech - yes in my view - and maybe lower if there were more choice in the area. Oh and if you want a wine that is south of the Alps then good luck looking for it - I understand a focus on Austrian wine and would be more sympathetic if the hotel did not plug its own Schloss most of the time. Austrian wine tasting? - yes but only if you want to taste the Hotel's wine! Very disappointed overall but I would also say some staff (Athena, Denis, Ivana) were really good and credit to them for a great service.

Incompetent staff and beautiful building. Staff is not communicating across departments. Treatment cancelled 5 min before due time even though adult was in the facilities for 2h30 min prior to appointment. Lunch orders have been mistaken and no empathy nor help to ensuring clients could arrive to treatment on time or possibility of rescheduling the treatment. Additional spa guest discriminated and asked to provided personal information without any possibility to link to original booking. And more and more… in short, I will not return to this place nor recommend it.
