Royal Sonesta Kauai

The grounds & facilities are beautiful & well maintained. Staff are welcoming & available. Pool is huge with five hot tubs (great kids pool with rock slide that is completely separate) lots & lots of loungers, fresh pool towels always available & the gorgeous Kalapakī Beach is steps away. Location is very central for exploring the island & short drive from the airport. We visited other resorts & would definitely choose to return to Royal Sonestra in the future.

Great location central to north or south parts of the island. The pool is amazing. Duke’s has delicious food. And the beds are comfortable. Rooms are spacious with great view of the bay. Make sure to try Lilikoi across the street for breakfast.

This resort hotel is supposed to be the most luxurious hotel of the Sonesta chain. Comparing it to other properties in Kaua’i is significantly oof less value. Whe Marriott ran the hotel it was well kept. Hallways and common areas are not well maintained. Prices for food and drinks are much hire than other local bars and restaurants. The pool deck and walkways are crumbling due to lack of repair. We found human excrement in a hallway, called it in and three hours later my wife cleaned it up. Sonesta corporate aught to be embarrassed by this place. Save you money and find another resort

This was a wonderful property. Small enough that you don’t get lost, but it feels like a grand resort. Rooms were clean and all had a view of the ocean. Teens and small child loved the resort pool and the beach next to it. Close to small shops and good restaurants. I would stay here again with my family.

Can’t say enough good things about this hotel ! All of the staff (front desk, restaurants, pool/beach service, parking) were very kind, helpful and cheerful. Our room was a garden view with a lanai and just a short walk to the pool. Room was clean and quiet. Very short walk to Duke’s restaurant and a very short drive from the airport. Good home base to travel to other parts of the island.
