Altis Avenida Hotel

This hotel was recommended to us for the location (near the Rossio train station) by people who lived in Lisbon. We were not expecting such a fantastic hotel! Everything about this hotel is top notch. All the staff was super helpful- Frederico front desk manager was very accommodating to our needs and even arranged for breakfast take away because of our crazy early flight. Rooftop bar has a beautiful view and the staff very fun- we miss our Port nightcaps! Highly recommend a beautiful hotel in a great location.

This was a highlight to an already exceptional trip. I was told this is the best place to stay in Lisbon by a travel guide and it lived up to the hype. It was perfectly located, gorgeously appointed, and the staff was so helpful, kind, and accommodating. The rooms are comfortable and bathroom luxe - great shower! The rooftop restaurant and breakfast buffet are just perfection. I feel lucky to have stayed here and I hope to come back another time.

My expectations were high based on previous reviews but sadly I was disappointed. This could a 5 * hotel but based on my experience, it is not. I will give you the positives first: excellent location, bang opposite the train station and on the “Bond St” Avenida road in Lisbon with really lovely staff throughout the whole hotel. Breakfast was only ok. The rooms, however, are a little tired, bathrooms are outrageously small (Deluxe Double). I could brush my teeth at the sink, wash my hair over the bath & open/close the bathroom door all while sitting on the toilet (which was broken!). The bedroom had limited plug sockets which as any traveller understands, is a minimum requirement! I will definitely return to Lisbon again but sadly not to this hotel: if I pay 5* prices I expect a 5* hotel.

On arrival, greeted immediately by staff, shown to your room, bags delivered - yes they treat you well here - all staff you encounter are excellent. We had a room with a balcony, couldn't get as much use of it as we'd like as quite a lot of rain during this january visit! Room was small but perfectly formed with everything you needed, free water and coffee and a reasonably priced minibar. Hotel is very modern overall. Breakfast upstairs was excellent with everything you need. To top it off great location, easy walk to many sights and transport links. Would highly recommend.

Excellent second stay at the fabulous Altus Avenida. Super service, clean, quiet comfortable rooms and the breakfast on the roof top restaurant is a real treat. Highly recommend for its super central location too. The staff were so helpful and we were able to leave our luggage after check out for a few hours while we did some last min sightseeing. Thank you Avenida for making our trip so special.
