Not a happy new year
Paid enough to buy a pension for life for New Year’s Eve dinner at the rooftop Rossio for a view of my beloved Lisbon. The venue is fantastic. The staff are fantastic but the prices are mind numbing and the food is just numbing. Tasteless, badly cooked (2 dishes returned) and just plain bland. I’ve been coming to Portugal for 40 years have a place in the Algarve and love , love ,love Portuguese cooking from the suckling pig in the North to the fresh squid and clams of the Algarve. So how do you end up getting such terrible food in the capital city which once was a delight for anyone who was interested in Portuguese food? So bitterly disappointed.

Excellent location, wonderful service, clean and comfortable rooms
Excellent second stay at the fabulous Altus Avenida. Super service, clean, quiet comfortable rooms and the breakfast on the roof top restaurant is a real treat. Highly recommend for its super central location too. The staff were so helpful and we were able to leave our luggage after check out for a few hours while we did some last min sightseeing. Thank you Avenida for making our trip so special.

Beautiful hotel in a great location.
Beautiful hotel with an amazing rooftop restaurant and bar (Rossio) that is not to be missed- it's great for a happy hour, dinner or night-cap. Rooms are modern and nice, and bathrooms are large and luxurious! The location was also perfect - easy for uber pick-ups and across from a large Starbucks if that's a perk for you.

Bestest hotel in Portugal
The hotel & hospitality is beyond excellence! They made my stay so comfortable that I’d recommend anyone visiting Portugal to stay here! Best staff ever:) its location is amazing too…walking distance to every landmark. You can’t get a better deal!

Exceptional!
Exceptional hotel located right in the heart of Lisbon within walking distance of the town. Can not fault it - the reception staff, the rooms, the rooftop bar & restaurant are all excellent. We had an early morning flight and were able to leave our bags at reception and they called us around about an hour later to say the room was ready earlier than normal check-in time. Lovely complimentary half bottle of port and pastel de nata left in our room just after we checked in, complimentary turn down service in the evening with some chocolate left. Everything was first class and will definitely be staying there again when we return to Lisbon, three nights was not enough!
