Stopped by the Bar3841 when the sunset was almost over... Great place! Nice cocktails and food. Staff was very helpful and nice. They suggest me to order a Mojito. "The best in Town they said" :) They were absolutely right. A must visit in Lisbon if you want to chill while watching the sunset

Wife and I were so pleased with our choice of the Altis Belem. The breakfast buffet was excellent. Lots of choices and great service even surprising us with mini birthday cakes for each of our birthdays which are one day apart. The spa staff were so friendly and provided an excellent massage experience. Location was perfect. Nice to return to a relaxing spot along the river after a full day of sightseeing and with multiple major tourist sights within a few minutes of the hotel. Thanks to the staff for making our stay so amazing.

I fell in love with this hotel because of its online photos overlooking the river but in reality it was somewhat of a let down. The location was good for wandering around the waterfront of Belem but crossing over the railway meant a long walk in either direction. The contemporary furniture and furnishings are in need of an update and the Deluxe Balcony Room was in need of some TLC as things chipped and/or not working. The sparse furniture (2 chairs and one small chaise) were uncomfortable. The outdoor balcony was an enormous deep space with two uncomfortable chairs and a metal sunshade (which could not be moved) hiding the view of Belem Tower. Despite requesting a quiet room we were still disturbed by train noises until the early morning. We were not given any information about the pool, restaurants or spa services upon check in. Also in the outdoor Gastro Bar our credit card was charged in US$ plus a E5 "service surcharge" added for this - all without asking us.

We spent five perfect days at the Altis Belem, a fantastic hotel right on the river walk in Belem, a five minute walk for the Torre do Belem as well as the monument to the Portuguese Age of Exploration. It has the only riverfront location in Belem, and one of two in all of Lisbon, adjacent to the marina. A more convenient location in Belem does not exist. Wonderful room with a balcony, and a fabulous staff. An especial shout-out to Iris, one of the waitresses, originally from Brazil, who always had a smile on her face. The entire staff was extremely friendly and helpful, well-trained and fluent in English. The buffet breakfasts, which included the right to order off-menu versions of eggs benedict (not our favorite) included wonderful fruit and great breads and baked goods, all made in house. Because we had praised the baked goods to staff members, a member of the staff--turned out he was the hotel General Manager!--arranged for us to depart with two specially baked loaves of nut and raisin breads. On the spa level, there's an enormous heated pool and quite a fine hammam (steam-room). We spent quite a bit of time in both, unwinding after long days of visiting museums. We felt pampered and cared for. Not an inexpensive hotel by any means, but well worth the price for the luxurious experience.

We stayed at this hotel for four nights on a recent trip to Lisbon, and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The hotel has won awards for design and architecture, and it’s not hard to see why. It’s a beautiful building, inside and out, with amazing views of the river. It would be very easy for a place like this to feel a bit aloof and snooty, but the staff are fabulous, they were friendly, welcoming, and helpful. We had a bit of a personal emergency whilst there, which Joao on reception sorted out for us with a minimum of fuss. All the staff are a credit to the Altis organisation. We were upgraded on arrival, and our room was fabulous. We had a balcony with a river view and a jacuzzi bath, which was just amazing. The room was impeccably clean, the bedding, toiletries and towels were of a high quality, and the huge bed was very comfortable. We took advantage of the terrific facilities on offer, spending a few afternoons on the roof-terrace, reclining on the sun-beds whilst watching the ships on the Tagus, the flights descending into Lisbon airport, and the crowds milling around the waterfront attractions at Belem. We also used the gym and the spa several times, which well equipped and a pleasure to visit. Both were relatively quiet when we were there. We absolutely loved our stay at the Altis Belem, and were sad when we had to leave, we’d have no hesitation in recommending this hotel, especially if you enjoy comfort, great design, and good service.
