My husband and I decided to treat ourselves to a relatively last minute stay in the Pestana Palace Lisbon for our 23rd Wedding anniversary. From start to finish, this trip surpassed our wildest expectations. Both in terms, the attention to detail before the trip, to plan our stay in Lisbon, and also when we arrived. The service and attention we received from Barbara Gonçalves, Guest Services Manager and her Team were truly outstanding. We were allocated a fabulous room and treated in so many thoughtful ways to mark our anniversary throughout our stay. In keeping with the Pestana mission, Barbara and her Team believe in the magic of their guests' stay. They take great pleasure from giving their best to both corporate and smaller events. We arrived tired and we are leaving totally rejuvenated. Would I recommend Pestana Palace Lisbon, absolutely, without hesitation! The stay was second to none. Thank you so much Barbara and Team.

Spent a most pleasant time having lunch in the restaurant of this hotel. Comfortable seating, lovely background music, just to my taste, which is a rare occurrence! Quiet unobtrusive attention from the waiter who spoke very good English. I had the vegetable soup to start which was very nice, for my main course I had Icelandic cod cured in the Portuguese way with crushed new potatoes and spinach - it was very nice. For dessert I had slices of fresh fruit - dragon fruit, melon, pineapple strawberries, grapes, mango, passionfruit and blueberries - an amazing array! I had coffee with complimentary chocolates and then we had complimentary port. It was a lovely oasis and a refuge from the awful rain outside.

Visited Pestana Palace Hotel for four nights for a city break. Stayed in one of the Prince’s Suites in the main building. Great architecture and history, the suite had everything that we needed for our stay and was comfortable and spacious but there were one or two issues with the room that needed sorting out. The staff we met were attentive, friendly and helpful and the level of service was very good. A shout out to the bar staff who were excellent, and I am particularly grateful to Guilherme Sequeira and his team for looking after us. Overall, the Pestana Place is a beautiful and historic hotel and certainly worth a visit, but I didn’t personally feel that it lived up to a five star rating across all amenities.

This is a beautiful old hotel just outside Lisbon. Our room was a suite. It was very clean, had lovely views, very comfortable bed I just found it very dark, especially the entrance hall. It was difficult to look into the dark wardrobes in the hall...I actually had to use the torch on my phone. The shower in the bathroom was a little small and narrow. Breakfast was disappointing. Bad coffee, and cold bacon, sausages & eggs. Two mornings in a row. But the staff were all so friendly and helpful....which kind of made up for this....but still needs to be mentioned. We left our car there, great garage at the side and great lads in charge of it. We used taxis for going into the city of Lisbon.
