Great location close to shops, restaurants, Hop on Hop off bus stops, and the staff were really friendly and professional. The rooms were spacious and the showers great! Restaurants were exceptional, and the view from the Sky Bar amazing!

Bad Service, Bad Room, Pay Through The Nose!

This was a horrible experience from beginning to end. From the time we checked in until the time we checked out the hotel was awful. Granted we were with a tour group, but that tour group pays the hotel a lot for us to stay there. Unfortunately we were giving a Cracker Box room and they lost our luggage. The room look like it was an afterthought and appeared to have been a room that the maids may have used previously. Also, numerous calls to the front desk, concierge, bell hops, and housekeeping went unanswered when we were looking for our lost luggage. Bottom line is that no one answers the phone here. As a result I had to take the elevators downstairs to attempt to learn where our lost luggage was. But wait, the one of the elevators wasn't working and was broken down. People were waiting 5 to 10 minutes to take the elevator. There are a few positives to the hotel, it's centrally located in lisbon, and the lobby and common areas are beautiful. Breakfast was also good. There's also a rooftop bar and restaurant where you can see all of Lisbon. Unfortunately the negatives way outweigh the positives at this hotel, particularly for the price that one pays. I would also add here that we did attempt to change rooms and did speak with the front desk very nicely, as did the tour operator, but their response was that it was impossible because the hotel was overbooked. A hotel like the Tivoli Lisbon should not be overbooking and should have their act together much better than this hotel does.

Lovely and well situated hotel in Lisbon

I booked this hotel through AMEX Platinum and received their suite of benefits which was perfect. Everything was lovely. The hotel is beautiful. Service is excellent and we were well taken care of. Breakfast upstairs is very good. And, we had dinners both at Seen (rooftop restaurant) and in their lobby restaurant, which were both very good. I would be happy to return to this hotel which is also well situated for a lovely stroll to the downtown area and water. We also used their car service for pick up and transfer to airport and it was excellent. Concierge was lovely and very helpful. Excelllent!!! Obrigado!!!!

An easy 5 star experience.

The Tivoli Avendia Liberdade Lisboa provided us a true 5 star experience from arriving at the curb to departing from the curb days later. We arrived early due to airline schedules. The hotel staff was incredibly accommodating showing us to the hotel spa area so we could freshen up and change clothes to go explorer the city until check in time. While we were out and about, they called letting us know our room was ready a full hour before they expected it to be. The location of the hotel is within a quick and easy walk to the Metro and the Lisboa Rossio train station for a quick trip to Sintra. The area, while not "quiet" is secure and we never felt unsafe even returning to the hotel late at night. The initial tour of the hotel was informative and efficient. I really appreciated the extra security of requiring a key to access the floor of my room via elevator. Every single staff member I encountered was helpful and cheerful. The breakfast buffet exceeded expectations both in terms of variety and quality of food and the exceptional view of Lisbon. The room was spacious and spotlessly clean. All the fixtures worked perfectly, plenty of water pressure and hot water. The bed was comfortable, the HVAC system kept the room at a very comfortable level with zero noise. Overall an easy 5 star experience and I would recommend the hotel and return for another visit without hesitation.

Excellent Service, Beautiful Property and Care with Dietary Restrictions

Five stars is not nearly enough to express the incredible experience we had in Lisbon thanks to the hotel Tivoli Avenida Liberdade. The hotel itself is very centrally located on a beautiful Avenue comparable to the Champs Elysees, Rodeo Drive and the Americana in Manhasset ;). The area is safe with tree-lined streets and plentiful shops. The hotel itself is absolutely beautiful with a stunning lobby, full service spa and breathtaking views from the rooftop restaurant where we enjoyed our plentiful breakfast each morning. Our group included a gluten-sensitive and sesame allergic traveler. The allergies were so severe that it required much communication in the weeks leading up to our stay, and the communication from the hotel was excellent. Specifically, Teresa Maria, Rafael, and several others went above and beyond to make sure we not only were cared for/completely pampered in the safest way possible. In fact, because they were uncertain whether their restaurants kitchen could keep our traveler 100% safe from the allergen, they made arrangements with a local gluten-free restaurant called "Rice Me" to provide separately wrapped breakfast to the restaurant each morning so the dining experience would be fully inclusive. Not only did Rice Me send over pastries, but they made sure and assortment each day as well as the very famous pasteis de nata which otherwise would not have been safe to enjoy. The hotel informed us that the restaurant even changed over the equipment to ensure the very safest experience for their guest. Another example, we had a dinner reservation for an authentic Fado show one evening and although emailed with the restaurant in advance, Raphael's suggested he should also call over to the to ensure they are fully aware of the severity of the situation. When we arrived at the restaurant, though the staff did not speak our language proficiently, they were able to clearly communicate to us that they fully understood the foods possible to serve our meal because of Raphael's call. Another example of the service we experienced - at a late hour, there was a concern with the airline - the concierge on duty, Daniel told us not to bother coming down to the desk rather he would come to us and sort out the concern due to the late hour. Within minutes, he arrived at our room and quickly resolved the issue with the airline. We were treated with such care and the entire experience was so luxurious and magical. The communication between the outstanding staff coupled with the services and beauty of the hotel in Lisboa. Teresa Maria and the team at Tivola made everything possible. I cannot recommend highly enough.
