Cranley hotel is a horror hotel!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 months ago

I made a reservation with the owner, Tanja Prcic of Happy Holidays on the street UL. Matije Korvina 17 in Subotica. I paid her in full to make a reservation at The Cranley Hotel at 10 Bina Garden in London. It was listed as a 4 star hotel. Tanja Prcic had shown me hotel listings with Expedia.com. She had never informed me that she had made the booking with Revolution.Travel. This turned out to be a non reputable travel platform. The hotel that I made the reservation is called The Cranley on 10 Bina Street in London. They advertise their hotel as being a 4 star hotel that is clean and elegant. I paid 900 Euros to stay at their hotel from August 2nd to August 10th of 2024 for a double bed with breakfast. I arrived at the Cranley hotel on August 2nd and was horrified at what I discovered. The pictures had nothing to do with the horrible reality. As you enter the foyer of the hotel Cranley you immediately see two arm chairs showing that the upholstery is black and looks like someone had defecated on it. Your nostrils are invaded by the smell, dust and overall filth. The furniture is old and dirty. There is no dining room or place to have breakfast. I was told I would have to eat on the filthy chairs. The lift does not work. The reception room only has one slow-moving fan and it is hot and sticky. There were no guests present on August 2nd, 2024. I was shown a room and the bed that sagged, the bathtub was black with rust and filth. The curtain in the room was torn. There was no fan and no air conditioner and no ventilation. It smelled bad. The stairs to the room were glued with tape. The receptionist told me that she could not reimburse my money. She said they were changing management team. I went into shock and as a 67 year old lady I left The Cranley Hotel and then I had no place to stay. I finally walked and found a hotel. I called and texted Tanja Prcic, the owner of Happy Holidays asking for her to reimburse my money. She said I had no pictures and therefore no proof of the deception that the Cranley Hotel had committed, So, I went back to the Cranley Hotel and took pictures so that I could have legal evidence of fraud. This is not a 4 star hotel. It looks more like a crack house for drug addicts and prostitutes. It is a total disgrace. It cannot even be rated as a 1star hotel. In conclusion please avoid the Cranley Hotel on 10 Bina Street in London. This place again is not a four start hotel but an abandoned and derelict type of house. Avoid using Happy Holidays and doing business with Tanja Prcic at Happy Holiday Travel and Revolution.Travel Instead book through reputable web sites and stay in hotels with excellent ratings, The Cranley s Hotel has terrible ratings. Live and learn that is my philosophy and if you treat people kindly they give you their friendship, loyalty and money. The unethical businesses run out of business. It is a personal choice of who we do business with and women remember you should never take abuse from anyone. Stand up to the bullies!

Very odd situation. I booked for 4 nights in July for a stay in what I thught was the Cranley Gardens Hotel. where we had stayed a few times before. The photos looked like where we had stayed. When booking dorect I explained we had stayed at Cranley Gardens Hotel before. No one corrected me. So I booked without looking at the reviews which when read were awful. Plus I was billed twice for the room which after contacting the hotel twice with no response was settled by my cedit card company. In the end we had to cancel. Did not expect a refund as we had booked lower non flexible rate. But we never occupied the room, no one ever enquired about that, and then a request for a review. Which is this. Not good. To top it off SEND buttom failed.

Better than a Premier Inn … Not sure

This could be a potential gem - but it isn’t. In great need of TLC and money! Carpet taped down, bannisters broken, marks on the walls, dirty windows, dripping taps and ineffective air conditioning. The breakfast was a huge disappointment and coffee cups had dirty rings inside. The staff did their best and were very polite and accommodating. Located in a central, thriving area made easy access to other areas of London. Such a shame as this beautiful building has great potential!

False Advertising - Horrible Hotel

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 5 months ago

This Hotel is a travesty and needs to be closed down. Upon entry there is sign that reads new management, aware of issues but no refunds possible! It advertises so much and delivers so little. Rotting carpet held together with gaffer tape on the stairs, stained carpets everywhere. Our room had used soap, body wash and hair in the bath and a used blanket thown in the bottom of the wardrobe. No amenties, no mini bar, no facilities for tea/coffee, no robes or hair dryer. All of this is promised on the web site along with lovely looking rooms. It's all lies. Our mattress was stained and falling apart, curtains stained and falling apart, badly worn out upolstery, broken handles on the drawers, a toilet that didn't flush properly and a hand basin with no plug or draincover. One roll of toilet paper was supplied and we had to ask for more on two occasions and were only given one roll at a time. The 'Continental' breakfast was very very basic and you're expected to eat it on low slung salon chairs on tables with no tablecothes while looking at stained, filthy carpet. The whole place is neglected and uncared for evidenced by the broken rotten plastic greenery adorning the window sills upon arrival. We chose this hotel on location which was good and a shared name. We're ashamed of the shared name.

Would not recommend to anyone, we left after 3 hours and we changed rooms twice.. Dirty and mouldy and hole in window.. Mattress, springs where hanging out of the sides and stained sheets. Furniture ripped and curtains mouldy. Bathroom had left over tops from bottles left in basin and taps leaked.. Bar fridge had left over food from previous person.. Seriously, rated 4 star, I do not think so.. Pictures don't match what you get.. Stay away.. Had to put 1 star, so people could see this review..

I was fortunate to have been a guest at The Cranley in South Kensington, London, for 5 glorious days this past June. Upon arrival we were expected, welcomed, and escorted to what I consider the finest suite in the hotel. The staff was gracious, professional, and the room was perfect. What more can I ask for?

The highlight of my London trip was the absolutely wonderful suite I had at The Cranley in South Kensington. The room, décor, furnishings, and the service were first class. For a small hotel, so very near Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park, I couldn’t have been more pleased and can’t wait to return.
