The Dorchester

Wow what a Hotel and the best staff ever. We had a two night stay which just wasn't enough. On arrival you are immediately greeted by the super friendly doormen who relieve you of your bags and guide you through to reception. Check in is simple with another lovely member of staff. We were upgraded to a beautiful room overlooking Hyde Park. Breakfast in The Promenade was excellent, it is such a beautifully decorated area to be seated in and a special shout out to Michele who made us feel so welcome. We also had dinner in The Promenade, a special shout out to Joe who went above and beyond to provide my husband's favourite beer for him. Lunch at The Grill was delicious and thank you to Mattia for the "behind the scenes" tour around the amazing kitchens. Drinks at the Vesper Bar are a must with the fab DJ playing and the best cocktails. This hotel is purely wonderful, its location, its decor, its spa and the absolutely fabulous staff, you made us sad to leave but we will definitely return very soon. Thank you for the amazing weekend.

I booked a couple of nights here for a treat for my wife on her birthday and we had a truly magical time. What a lovely hotel; we were upgraded because of the special occasion to a fabulous, newly renovated room overlooking Hyde Park which had everything you could wish for and more. What a beautiful, stylish bathroom with adjustable lighting; a bath after long walks round the city was something to look forward to and rounded off the day before we went out for dinner. Without exception we were welcomed and put totally at ease by every single member of the Team we came across - you could tell that not only did they feel proud to work at this hotel, but they felt appreciated. My wife enjoyed an early morning swim each day ay 45 Park Lane next door; again lovely staff, what a pity there is no bridge or tunnel to it! We treated ourselves to a (very) expensive breakfast on the first morning for the sheer pleasure of the experience and it certainly lived up to our expectations; what a great way to start a day and a late night drink in the lovely Art Deco Vesper bar was a perfect end to the day as well. There is no doubt it is an expensive place to stay but it was worth every penny, and as our first time, I'd prefer a few less visits to London, or perhaps shorter stays and spend them at the Dorchester rather than a cheaper place elsewhere. Thank you to all the Team for making my wife's birthday so special; the cake, balloons, wine and present were so very much appreciated. Can't wait to return!

Our yearly visit to the promenade over the festive period with close friends was absolutely delightful. The Artists Bar was wonderful and the perfect place to sit and admire the wonderful Christmas decorations over a glass of champagne. Afternoon tea in the promenade was magical with the choir. The chef did well at meeting our dietary requirements and the sandwiches and desserts were beautifully presented. We were delighted to meet Mr Richard Newell in person, after communicating via email for many years. He was ever so charming, accommodating and went above and beyond for us. We are grateful for everything he has done for us over the years. Thank you to Monika Mazuruk and Berna Isik for arranging our booking and taking on board all of our requirements to make our anniversary special. We had an amazing time and can't wait to visit again for my Birthday in June. You were both truly wonderful and always make sure our visits are extra special. Both Monika and Berna are personable, efficient, kind and personable employees, who are an asset to the Dorchester hotel. We couldn’t imagine the hotel running smoothly without their top two employees! Thank you Richard, Monika and Berna, you are amazing at what you do and we will see you soon.

Fabulous hotel and staff we had a lovely stay. From the door staff and Reception and housekeeping all were so helpful and friendly and took initiative to make our stay so good. In particular I’d like to mention Anwar in The Promenade who looked after us exceptionally well for breakfast and lunch🙌🙌🙏 I would recommend The Dorchester Hotel, its rooms, facilities (my husband said the gym and swimming pool were excellent) and last but not least it’s amazing staff.

Everything from booking, discussing details with the booking staff, the porterage, the reception and the imposing decor was superb. The suite was lavishly appointed with a balcony overlooking Hyde Park. The dinner and breakfast was impeccably handled, the wine list extensive. The staff was extremely helpful, polite and not obsequise. It was not cheap but compared well with other international hotels such as Cipriani in Venice, George V in Paris, Negresco in Nice, Mandarin in Hong Kong, Beverley Hills in Los Angeles - though the English polished reserve was only noted here.
