Tucked into a tiny alleyway off St. James' Place, Dukes Hotel is quintessential Britain – it dates from 1908, but the interior is modern and the atmosphere is convivial. Impressive oil paintings and dark antique furniture preside alongside brightly upholstered settees, and beds are renowned for being incredibly comfortable. You’ll want to down one of the martinis at Dukes Bar, said to be the inspiration behind James Bond's request for "shaken, not stirred."

Stayed one night on Dec 24, 2024. When we left the hotel we told the people at the reception and the head concierge that we would be back for the nights of Jan 9 through Jan 13th and even left a piece of luggage at the hotel. Two days prior to our arrival of Jan 9 I received an email saying that the hotel would not honor our booking since they would go through a renovation. They assigned us a different hotel which was not of the same quality/standards and forgot about us from then and on. Why the hotel did not alerted us while we were there on Dec 24th that it would go through full renovation and we should look for another hotel? Seems just irresponsible and of huge lack of consideration to its guests. Not good at all. I have been requesting a full reimbursement with no answer up to now. We of course did not stayed at the hotel they wanted to assign to us. Booked and paid a different hotel.

This is a hotel with typical British decor on a dead-end street next to Green Park and the Ritz Hotel. The reception has several paintings of royal family, the elevator is over 100 years old and the rooms are small but comfortable. The breakfast is well served. The bar is famous and trendy. The location is very good. Close to everything in Mayfarr and Sohi.

I visited Dukes with my family for a 1 night stay. The hotel and room were absolutely beautiful, the room was perfectly decorated for Christmas and our wedding anniversary celebration. This was our fifth visit and we were welcomed back, it felt just like coming home. Breakfast in the GBR was delicious and we were treated like family by Ujwol and his team. We look forward to returning again soon.

If I could give my rating 0 stars I would. To say I was disappointed would be an understatement. I have visited Dukes for Afternoon tea several times, and it has always been an amazing experience. However this time was absolutely awful. I had booked an Afternoon tea for 8 people for a special occasion as I had family members visiting the UK for the first time, and a special birthday. I also confirmed the booking a few days beforehand and 1 hour before our arrival. I was advised at the time that because of the amount of people we would have to have the Afternoon tea in the Restaurant, which I confirmed at the time was fine. When we arrived, we were told that they did not have a booking for Afternoon tea, only for the restaurant, and they where unable to offer Afternoon tea, and there was nothing they could do to accommodate us. The restaurant manager Lucas apologised and said he would look into why there was an error in the booking. We travelled over 2 hours in Central London, a large group if people. Nothing was offered as to us for the inconvenience caused. So we we are hugely disappointed with Dukes London and await to see what can be offered to resolve this unfortunate event. Dukes of London, I expect better from you.

The service at Dukes is impeccable. The hotel has a quintessential British feel without feeling overly stuffy. From the incredible front desk staff to the breakfast staff to housekeeping and to the Dukes bar and dining facilities, it is London perfection. The location can not be beat. It is a quick walk to anything but also very quiet and tucked away from the hustle of the city. The Christmas decor was a treat and traditional feel was exactly what we hoped for but it is the staff that makes this worth every penny and makes us sad to leave.
