Lovely property

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 days ago

We had a Lovely stay in that small property. After a last minute cancellation from Eurostar, we had to find a room on the way to the airport. As it was just for one night, we booked the smaller category and was actually quite big ! The room is very quiet overlooking the shared garden. A regular socket inside the bathroom or a full mirror in the room might be a nice improvement to do my hair during the morning. Staff was very welcoming and always here to help. The menu at the restaurant is a bit surprising but the risotto was very tasty and the burger too. Breakfast was included and quite generous for free a la carte. Had a very nice moment in that typical British street !

Oh, dear...

We planned to stay for five nights, we left after one. Room (suite, 550 euros p/n) was dark gray with black curtains and no lights, like living in a cave. Couldn't find anything. Not a good look in cloudy, gray London. Tiny closet space and no chest of drawers. Had to close the bathroom door to use the loo. Heard the people upstairs. Eager, but amateurish staff. Boring part of the city, though close to Harrods if that is your thing. We left after one night and went to the Stafford. Triple the price, but SO nice. What happened to the SLH brand? Used to be wonderful.

Boutique hotel with great staff!

I stayed here the first weekend of December as I was getting married at Chelsea Town Hall. We stayed in the presidential suite and the room cannot be faulted. It’s beautifully decorated throughout and has a vast amount of space. The room has a greta selection of extras and upon our arrival was a lovely afternoon tea style selection of fruit and chocolates. The staff in the hotel from booking to the stay itself were excellent; I had some queries due to it being my wedding stay and they helped with the logistics of things and couldn’t be anymore helpful if they tried. I can’t remember everyone but Justina, Lorenzo and Francine are some names of staff that stick in my mind for being extremely helpful. We had breakfast both days we stayed and it was lovely. Brilliant food. Service was a little bit slow but nothing that was an issue. Location is great! 10 minute walk to Harrods and 12 minute walk to the Kings Road. Really central. Thank you to all the staff at the hotel for making our wedding weekend amazing.

Great stay at the Franklin

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

We had a great stay at the Franklin. The location is great, on a posh, quiet, side street in Knightsbridge. We arrived early in the morning (8:30 am), and were given a private area off the reception to wait while they got our room ready (about an hour). We were upgraded to a suite (Hilton Diamond). The suite was two smallish rooms but much appreciated. Since the hotel is several connected townhouses, there are a few odd turns and hallways. The decor throughout the hotel is visually lovely, but the designer obviously loves dark colors and mirrors, which seems an odd choice for a hotel because it does make the rooms seem darker. The bed was very comfy, the bathroom was well appointed. Water pressure was good. Others have mentioned that you have to step over a very high tub to get into the shower, which is true. The staff is attentive and comes to clean/turn down the room probably three times a day. Breakfast is excellent (complimentary for Diamond). I sat at a table and chatted with a woman who described her room as one big room, so obviously, the rooms are quite different from one another. It was a great stay and I would definitely return.
