Hotel Cafe Royal

Having previously stayed regularly at this hotel, after a break since 2021, we returned to spend the Christmas period here. We had very high expectations based on our previous stays (along with stays in other 5-star hotels in London since, none of which compared to our memories of this place), and I have to say we were absolutely not disappointed. It was such a pleasure to be back. The delightful Tommy from concierge welcomed us as we got out of the car; we received a wonderful check-in from Maja at reception, and Marie-Charlotte kindly came to greet us, having remembered us from previous visits. We instantly felt at home and were reminded why we adore this hotel. The festive decor was beautiful. Our room was immaculate and maintained to that standard for the entire stay, with twice-daily visits from housekeeping. Pearson from guest relations introduced himself to us at breakfast on our first morning. He checked in on us frequently during our stay and went out of his way to look after us, ensuring all our needs were accommodated—particularly those of our neurodiverse sons. We are incredibly grateful to him. On Christmas Day, we enjoyed a carriage ride in central London, organized by the hotel. It was a truly magical experience, one that we will never forget as a family. Throughout the festive period, there were many thoughtful touches delivered to our room, from stockings on Christmas Day to numerous sweet treats from the incredibly talented chefs. On Christmas Eve, we enjoyed carols performed by a local school while we ate a leisurely breakfast (the breakfasts here are superb—one of our favorites among the many hotels we’ve been lucky enough to stay in worldwide). We dined on two evenings in Barbounia, where the food is delicious. Once again, we were extremely well looked after, thanks to the kindness of the manager (whose name I unfortunately didn’t note). We also received exceptional service from Flávio and Ariu, who went above and beyond to ensure our dining experience was perfect. This is the only hotel in London where we feel fully relaxed, rested, and so well looked after during a stay—something for which we are incredibly grateful. Thank you so much to everyone mentioned, as well as the entire team, for making this possible. We noticed many staff members working long hours over Christmas and admired how they always maintained smiles on their faces and positive attitudes, ensuring guests like us were cared for seamlessly. We can’t wait to return and know that from now on, this is the only hotel we will book for our London trips!

Each time I return to Hotel Café Royal, it’s nothing short of an extraordinary and unforgettable experience. The moment you step into the hotel, the ambiance is captivating, with the rooms offering a perfect blend of comfort and coziness, while the corridors exude a refined, masculine charm. Every aspect of the property is thoughtfully designed to make you feel at home and immersed in luxury. The breakfast service is exceptional, with a delightful array of delicious options that showcase an impressive attention to detail. The quality of the food is remarkable, and it’s evident that the hotel takes great pride in ensuring a memorable dining experience for each guest. Hotel Café Royal truly knows how to leave a lasting impression, offering impeccable service and an atmosphere that makes it a place you never want to leave. It’s more than just a hotel; it’s a destination that continually exceeds expectations and makes every stay feel like a special occasion.

We had an incredible stay with memories that will last a lifetime! We decided to make a quick stop to London while traveling through Europe over the holidays, and spent Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. We originally booked the Four Seasons and decided to cancel and stay at Hotel Cafe Royal and also upgraded to their “festive package”. BEST DECISION EVER! We wish we would have planed to stay longer! We have a 3 and 6 year old and wanted to make this Christmas abroad as special as possible for them. Pearson and the rest of the guest relations team were simply amazing!! They thought of everything and were incredibly accommodating with requests! I can’t thank him, Elvis, and everyone else we encountered before our arrival and during our stay enough! The holiday decor was festive yet elegant, the Christmas lunch was delightful and my daughter absolutely loved the visit from Santa as well as the carriage ride and hot chocolate on Christmas Day! I could go on and on with all the details but, simply put, if you are considering a stay at this property you can’t go wrong!

Myself and now Fiancé had the most amazing stay at Hotel Cafe Royal. I will start by staying this hotel has outstanding facilities and rooms. I couldn’t have asked for a better weekend. I had pre warned the hotel that I planned to propose to my partner during our stay, which got me in contact with Pearson from the guest relations team. He took all my requests on board and made everything better than I could have imagined. I don’t think I’ve ever had service this dedicated and passionate before in London, and I’ve visited and stayed at some of the other big name hotels in the area!
