Reviews for The Kensington

Good option in Kensington

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

I actually love this hotel. It’s got a great location just near South Kensington / or Gloucester Road Tube station. Close to park. If you want to be in this area (away from central) I would recommend it. The lobby is beautiful the staff are friendly. The only thing I opted for a double room (entry level) and the room was tiny / bathroom tiny. It was great for me alone but as a couple it would just be too small so go for a bigger room. The breakfast sadly was also a rip off - you can only have option for £32 or £40 which I think is a little silly. Just offer a croissant or yogurt for a reasonable price.

The service gets better every time

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

For the last 3ish years, I’ve been staying at The Kensington whenever I have to visit London for work and don’t have any complaints. I obviously return for a reason! My most recent visit however was not for work and I was visiting with my partner for a short getaway. And whilst my stays at the Kensington are always great, once the staff realised I was in London for a special occasion this time, they went the extra mile to make our stay memorable. The staff always provide great service, the doormen are always attentive and helpful, chatty, polite and professional. After years of staying at the Kensington, I have never witnessed their service slip. Only improve. I always, and will continue to, stay at the Kensington as I know I will get the service, attention to detail and 5 star experience that I’m paying for, every single time. And would highly recommend The Kensington to those anting an extra special stay in London.

Great place to stay in a great location

Very nice area and a great experience overall. Friendly staff as always at the Doyle Collection and again the location is perfect if you have interest in the area. Christmas decoration I would say second to none.

Decadent hotel but tiny rooms!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

We stayed for 3 nights to enjoy Christmas shopping and loved the location which is a 5 min walk to the underground station with lots of nice cafes and restaurants close by, the hotel lobby, bar and drawing room are stunning but beware of the rooms! We booked a classic room (room 125) which was tiny! I dread to think what the ‘Cosy’ rooms are like unless that’s what we were given! No drawers or space for clothes except some hangers which would be ok for 1 night or one adult in room but not ideal for 3 nights. We had a surprise when checking out to find another guest billed their breakfast to our room! The hotel should verify surnames for all charges and not accept a scribbled signature!!
