Reviews for The Montague on the Gardens

Third visit - and still wonderful

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

There is something comforting about returning to a hotel where you've stayed twice before, and finding it to be just as warm and welcoming as it was on your previous visits. That's what Montague on the Gardens is for me - my friends now jokingly refer to it as my home-away-from-home in London. I keep coming back because I love everything about it - the decor, the comfortable rooms, the incredibly friendly staff, the food & drink, and the location. I brought a friend along this time who hadn't stayed there before, and she fell in love with it too - and couldn't get over the service, and how easy it is to get just about anywhere in the city from that location. I recommend it to everyone I know who's planning a trip to London. It's really a little hidden gem.

Lovely London Hotel

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

Excellent hotel within a stone's throw of the British Museum and also well placed for Covent Garden and the West End. Room was small, as is usual for a standard room in London but we were only staying for one night, so it was a deliberate choice not to pay more for a larger one. The room itself was nicely decorated with a lovely shower room and comfortable bed. Bonus points for a hairdryer with a long lead and a socket positioned next to a mirror. All members of staff were friendly and a particular shout out to Mustafa the Concierge who was delightful. Highly recommended hotel.

A location that can't be beat

Very spacious, nice atmosphere. But most of all the location can not be beat. Right across the street from the British Museum, half a block from Russell Square and within easy walking distance to the theatres, it's perfectly located for a fantastic trip to London.

A Complete Joy!

Oh my goodness! Where do I start with this most amazing hotel? I’ll start with the absolutely brilliant people who work here and totally looked after us. Everyone was ultra professional, knowledgeable and talented, as is to be expected in a superb hotel of this character, yet with the added bonus of a tremendous passion and pride in their work to ensure that we as customers, experience nothing but perfection. Greeted warmly with beautiful genuine smiling faces, happy to listen to how excited I was to be here with my daughter after our last visit 20 years ago, when she was going for an interview at the university. And now I’m a Nana and my gorgeous daughter is a Mum. Everyone soooo super helpful with any queries. From ordering taxis to go to see the show we’d booked, delivering our cases to our beautiful room, professionally pouring the champagne to go with our delightful Afternoon Tea … oh! And did I mention the amazing breakfast delivered to our room? Out of this world for choice and you’ll see from one of the photos, my daughter pretty much ordered everything and yes, dear reader, she ate it all too! Highly highly recommend and we’ll defo not wait 20 years to return. Agi, Fred, Omari, Rigels, Stevi, Adelina, Kristjan, Gabriela, Neil – you are all just so absolutely fabulous – we had the best of times because of you all – we really did and I cannot thank you all enough. Oh, one other member of staff I’d like to say a special thank you to - Levente, who independently went above and beyond to make a trip to another hotel, where I’d booked a “bucket list” Afternoon Tea, super memorable 😘❤️

The best!

One of the best hospitality and service we’ve experienced staying in a hotel. Everyone was very courteous, helpful and accommodating - from the attendant to the front desk to the dining area. Will definitely be my go to stay when in London! Highly recommended.
