The location of the hotel is good, a 15 minute walk from Euston and about 5 minutes to Russel Street Undergound. The single room was comfortable with a spacious bed and high quality soft furnishings, towels etc.. The tea coffee and snacks were also very good. I booked direct with the hotel and got the room on a good deal with a £50 credit towards dining. The reception welcome was friendly but had to be firm that I could find my own way to my room with a small bag. I had booked into the restaurant at 1830 and when I arrived I was put into the conservatory with one party of afternoon tea just about to leave. It was deserted for the next hour plus I spent there. Service started off well but and the food was good but my requested glass of wine did not arrive. Eventually I managed to get attention and the wine was brought but I was rather disappointed to be charged for two on the bill. It was corrected but not clever. When I checked out the following day I reviewed my bill and noticed that the dining allowance had not been credited. Again it was remedied when challenged but left a bit of feeling of lack of professionalism or?

Excellent warm and friendly customer service. Location perfect for British Museum and a 20 minute walk to Covent Garden and the West End. We had a standard double room on the 2nd floor facing the road. Our room was cosy with a standard double bed. We had plenty of hanging space however due to the size of the room it was a little constricted but fine for a couple of nights. The floor above us was very creaky but not unexpected in a hotel of this age. The bathroom was on the small size with the shower over the bath. The lounge, bar and dining room is full of character. The breakfast buffet was very good with plenty of choice of cold and hot items. All the waiting staff at breakfast were excellent. We had a wonderful stay and will definitely stay here again.

Nice location....quiet street but quite close to the action of the West End. Was a very good home base for exploring the city. The best part, however, was the staff. Incredibly friendly, courteous, and helpful. While we met many nice folks, we have to give a special shout out to TJ, who works in the Leopard Bar. Great service!

The Montague is a beautiful hotel in a superb location, opposite the British Museum. The staff are wonderful. Very friendly, and attentive. Taking afternoon tea on the terrace, or an evening in the bar, was thoroughly enjoyable and relaxing. I loved the breakfast. For me, the best part of my stay (1 week) was the staff, a very happy group of people and they all seem to really enjoy working there. It shows. Kristjan makes the best cappuccinos and gives the best hugs. I was sad to leave. I had a wonderful time staying there. The only complaint was the lift (elevator for our american cousins). Could it be any slower? I have seen disabled snails move faster. I would definitely recommend the Montague. I would go back to London just to stay there.

Absolutely loved staying at the Montague on the Gardens! It’s an Oasis in London. We felt super welcomed in the hotel. The staff is very very friendly. The style of the hotel is classic British but yet with lots of contemporary touches. Breakfast was great. Would absolutely recommend staying there.
