Beautiful Japanese themed hotel in gentrified Shoreditch. Booked this room for a surprisingly good rate given the high end upmarket nature of the hotel. Highly professional helpful and charming front desk staff. Minimalist chic rooms, the ground floor ones given privacy from the street by a pretty wall of bamboo. Only thing to be wary of is the overpriced breakfast. £28 for the buffet and £30 for hot food but extra charge for essential items like orange juice and coffee. Rather peculiar. Otherwise a beautiful place to stay if out of the way of city centre centre attractions.

We booked a night in London as my partner was here with work and having found the room for around £350 for central London we thought it was worth a go as we like to try and staff at different hotels. Check in was quick and the staff were lovely and gave us a free upgrade. We were so surprised by the room rate we asked about extending another night (Friday) and we were told they could accommodate this in our upgraded room for £250 which we could not say no too. So firstly excellent value for money. The decor is beautiful and the room was spacious with all the amenities one would expect. Obviously the food in nobu is wonderful and the staff in the bar were also attentive and accommodating. A short walk from all there is to do in Shoreditch so location is excellent. The only thing missing is a pool and larger spa facilities but this is likely reflected in the price and so you can’t complain for the value. All in all we were really happy with our stay. The staff, the food the room so it was definitely a win!

A lovely hotel! It’s got a great bar downstairs with delicious cocktails, an in-room mini bar which is a bit of a rarity these days, and the minimalist vibe was very cool. The bed was incredibly comfortable and I liked that the walls for the bathroom were quite thick. You couldn’t hear the shower really!

In short, not with the money. The restaurant is beautiful but the hotel stay is very underwhelming to say the least. The bathroom had a sewer stench and the view was astoundingly terrible. It being a birthday staycation, it just wasn’t all that at all. Though, I recommend South Place Hotel London, it’s fab x

A nice hotel with good location near Old street underground. Nice breakfast. Atmosphere in the hotel is nice, smells nice, clean and modern. Team members are in desperate need of training in customer care and interaction with guests. There is a very unstable level of service at the hotel especially reception and breakfast personnel. Not unfriendly just nothing special and rarely no initiative of taking contact or wanting to interact with the guests. Such as a “hello”, “good morning” “good night” or such when passing by the reception or someone working in the breakfast. Would make the hotel feel more luxurious and friendly, now it is more stone-faced greeting. The toilets flush really strange in the guest rooms. No toilet brush. And a lack of hooks to hang your coat when entering the room. If you like strong coffee in the morning, BYO instant coffee. There are some sort of coffee-tea-bag situation which is more like dish water even after 5-10mins in the hot water….. Besides these things… overall a nice stay. Clean and nice interior. Fresh showers and nice towels.
