Located in the former Morning Post newspaper building, designed by star-architects Charles Mewes and Arthur Davis, One Aldwych is a stunning hotel with a striking contemporary design. Ideally located in the heart of London’s theater district, it is a short walk from the shops and restaurants of the capital’s bustling West End and close to the financial district.

We love afternoon tea & were really looking forward to a diverse & original day. On arrival the staff were very friendly the bar area colourful and different, then we were led downstairs to our table. What a let down, it was just like a normal restaurant. I would have thought a 5* hotel would have tried a little harder with the 'theme'! Nothing said it was Willy Wonka & the Chocolate factory. We were expecting huge lollipops, chocolate decorations, candy floss , candy bars, sugar cane sticks...anything! But there was nothing at all. We counted 12 waiting staff, but the service was slow & the restaurant half empty. At £70 a person, not the cheapest & a bit of a let down, though a glass of champagne was included, {well barely half a glass}. I must say that the food was different, not your normal boring finger sandwiches, but delicious, fresh & very tasty. The only nod to Willy Wonka was the stick of candy floss served with the food.

We loved this hotel! It was a great location for us (plays, museums). We had walked past it many times in the past and always thought it looked charming. It is even better than that! The hotel is beautiful, with great art. Our room was well-sized and comfortable. The guest library is a welcome refuge on busy days. The lobby bar has creative cocktails based on the art in the hotel. All the staff were attentive and helpful, to a person. We need to call out Lydiane (not sure of spelling), who made us feel welcome every night in the lobby bar after shows or dinners.

We selected this hotel due to its amazing location and design. It obviously sits within the Luxury set hotels of London and it deserves its position amongst them. We usually stay somewhere else in London but would seriously consider changing this to be our new favourite hotel. location - Great Room - Spacious for London (We had a deluxe) Amenities - Good (Mitchel and Peach not my favourite, but free mini bar is great touch) Sleep quality - Amazing, room was so quiet and we were overlooking the Lion King theatre. We will be back

I have been coming to this hotel for 20 years. The quality of the service, rooms, facilities, and food is world class. You can not beat its location. A boutique hotel with every service you can want. It is amazing that One A is as good today (I think even better) than when it first opened. We would not stay anywhere else in London. Tip. Book the studio bridge suite with views over Waterloo bridge and definitely have cocktails in the bar in front of the amazing flower arrangements.
