Located in the former Morning Post newspaper building, designed by star-architects Charles Mewes and Arthur Davis, One Aldwych is a stunning hotel with a striking contemporary design. Ideally located in the heart of London’s theater district, it is a short walk from the shops and restaurants of the capital’s bustling West End and close to the financial district.

This hotel is outstanding! From the very moment we were met by the team at the door, to picking up our bags at the end of the day - every moment perfect. The staff are friendly , professional, and super helpful. The room was spacious, beautiful, clean, and generally lovely. I would recommend One Aldwych to everybody and is maybe one of the nicest hotels I've had the pleasure of staying in.

1st I have to say that the room is marvelously decored, with quality furnitures and amenities. Bed is also very comfortable and even in the 1st room category, we had enough Space for our 3 nights stay. Then, a few points comes out : - as soon as you are using water inside the bathroom, there is strong noise coming. You have also a lot of noise coming from the outside in it (not in the room) so door should be closed at all Time to keep the relaxing atmosphere of the room - except the French receptionist and one of the Bell boy, staff seems not very pleased to welcome and say hello. When we dropped of our bags upon Check out, we have indicated that the 2 shopping bags on top should be carry on carefully as there were some very fragile Christmas presents inside. The gentleman who takes them replied « if so you should have puting them inside your suitcases » well… - before making reservation, we called to check if the concierge service can helps to get tickets for Harry Potter studio even if they are sold out online. As we’ve got a positive reply, we have decided to book this property and ask the concierge. The direct reply was « no we cannot help go online » - Our Eurostar has been unfortunately cancelled a day prior our departure. As soon as informed, we came at the desk to ask if they can accommodate us and provide the rate. The manager on duty wrote a rate on a paper and says « we invite you to go directly to booking.com, you will have a better rate ». Why are you not directly apply the same rate and avoid you the commissions that they are taking? It is not exactly the service we were expected, especially for a Sunday night at more than €1000 for standard room. - last point was the most disappointed one : The breakfast. 1st day, we waited 15 minutes to have someone coming to take our order and again 20 minutes to get our order done even for a very simple request. I had waffles that was not as it was fried. Second day, still without any smile or any sympathic word, my boyfriend get its frozen bad quality croissant (€8 each !). As soon as he finished, my omelette came so we did not ate in the meantime. He had also ordered some coffee which was full of coffee grounds inside ! When you ask people to provide 15% service, you should provide 1st quality food and also top service. We feel more like inside a hotel chain than a luxury 5 star hotel. Last point was the spa, where you should scan your room key to access. The floor around the swimming pull is full of scale and salt that procure the intuition that it is not properly clean. I am sure they cleaned it, as our room was spotless, but it did not provide a good first impression. For our extra night, we make the decision to change hotel and loved it. For sure we will come back to London, but not at the One Aldwych

Hotel was exceptional and provided a fabulously comfortable base for our annual Christmas trip into the city. We stayed in a 2 bedroom family suite which was perfect. Breakfast was incredible, plenty of staff, good selection of made to order cooked to perfection dishes and requests were no trouble at all. We also used the valet service and concierge which were all very helpful and proficient. Will definitely stay again. The Christmas decorations were stunning as well.

I booked a lobby bar table for pre dinner drinks with our family. We were celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary. We have been to London many times, but this was our first visit to One Aldwych, and we were all very impressed. The bar is calm and classy in a central location, beautifully decorated for Christmas with amazing staff. A special mention to Julia and her colleague who kindly made sure we had an amazing experience. Thank you all so much, we’ll be back one day!

Still very much the best hotel in London. Always greeted with a smile and a helpful hand, whether that's grabbing the luggage or parking the car, everything is smooth and efficient. Forever helpful and accommodating, it remains my home from home when in London. The hot chocolate in the lobby bar remains my favorite.
