The hotel is convenient to many of the historic sites you want to see. I was able to walk to Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey, the London Eye and was only a short cab ride from the West End. When I got to reception on my first day, I was greeted by Madhu and he made checking in seamless. The views from the rooms and executive lounge are amazing. The breakfast could have used a bit more variety but overall I would definitely stay again.

First note is I am writing this review on the first night of my stay, on the second floor at 12am as I cannot sleep due to the noise surrounding me. Over the last ten years, I don’t have enough fingers and toes to count the amount of times I’ve stayed at the Park plaza Riverbank, and it’s safe to say that each stay is worse than the last. The hotel staff used to be very caring about making your stay comfortable, and there was something personal about staying here. That is none existent anymore. I choose to stay in this hotel every time I visit London (which I won’t be any more). Throughout a year it is a lot of times. This morning (Monday) I checked into my room which I had booked from the previous night (Sunday) but was unable to travel down due to train strikes (same thing has happened in my last 3 visits over the last 3 months). In order to try and save any hassle when I check in, I email and telephone hotel reception in advance to explain my situation, in order to keep my room and my reservation not being cancelled. The last 3 times I have checked in, I have been given poor rooms for somebody who is staying for 5 nights at a time: January - room 128 right next to lifts, gym and restaurant. Request to move February- booked a twin room and get a double. Request to move Today- given a disability room without even being asked if it’s okay by the person checking me in. Request to move and given a room by the plant room, above the restaurant and just above street level. Which I am stuck in till tomorrow. I have always went back to reception and requested to move rooms and today I was given room 235 which I am in now. When asked again if I can have a higher room I was told ‘it’s the morning sir, we are full’ to which I completely understand, but the hotel was notified of my arrival time and no room was clearly kept for me. I stay for 5 nights at a time, I can put up with certain rooms for one night but when I am staying for a long period of time on my own for business, it is unacceptable. I don’t feel I am looked after during my stays anymore. Also, for anybody visiting with a premium membership status for Radisson hotels, don’t get your hopes up as it’s absolutely useless here and the complimentary room upgrade to the next status is never filled. I must note the spa and gym facilities are brilliant and the breakfast is too. Same for the location which is why this review has just got a 2/5.

The Park Plaza Hotel even though large was incredibly welcoming for a single woman (widow) who was staying alone and the Concierge Alex and Josh were absolute gentleman and very happy to help ensure the smallest detail was perfect and Isabela was incredibly kind and made the Spa so relaxing and enjoyable. I was invited to the Lexis Nexis Award Ceremony and it was beautifully run & again the staff were excellent & were very patient as the guests were reluctant to leave the dance floor. I would absolutely recommend for future events & would love to come again!

Room was average and not as clean as usual experience. Best feature was the shower which was great, powerful and hot. Gym is good and location is pretty good for restaurants, pubs and shops. This stay was good value too. Although it's a big hotel, it's reasonably quiet.

This was the first time my wife and I stayed in a nice hotel (we usually get premium inns). The view was stunning and the bed was wonderful. It literally took our breath away. To add, it was also our marriage anniversary and Joe, the Concierge, took amazing care of us! It's not easy travelling with a baby but Joe and the team made sure all our needs were met. Huge thanks to Joe and the team at reception 🙂!
