On checking in for a 2-night stay over New Year, we were told that the river view suite we had paid a considerable fee for would not have a view of the NYE fireworks. As we had travelled with our 3 children who were greatly looking forward to watching the fireworks, we were persuaded to pay another £800 for a room of the same type that would allow a view. The balconies are unlocked on arrival and no keys are given to guests. They are supposed to freely open from the inside and outside until locked again by hotel staff when the guests check out. Just before the fireworks began, my family prepared to go outside to watch. Unfortunately the balcony door malfunctioned, trapping my husband and I outside with the children still inside and unable to open the door to join us. We were unable to open the door from the outside to comfort our children who were incredibly distressed. After some time my daughter managed to call reception to convey that we were trapped, and that the children were alone in the room. A maintenance man arrived and was able to get out onto the balcony but this required a key (which should not be the case). The door then locked behind him meaning he too was now trapped on the balcony. Fortunately, since he was still holding his key he was able to unlock the door from the outside to let us all back in again. By this time the fireworks had ended, the children were incredibly distressed at having witnessed their parents being trapped and to have missed the fireworks that we had travelled to see. Having conveyed our disappointment to the management we have been told that as the door was working prior to check in there’s nothing they can do. However had we not been persuaded to pay £800 for a ‘guaranteed view’ of the fireworks, I would guarantee we would have seen them rather than spending the time consoling scared children through a glass door! All in all, the entire stay was a disappointment, the housekeeping was poor leaving no toilet roll. Breakfast was disorganised with there being not enough capacity to sit the number of guests. The egg my husband ordered on both mornings never arrived. The hotel bar was unavailable to hotel guests on NYE unless they were prepared to pay £200 per head for drinks (including children!) Pool is very small and poorly heated. Elevators slow - typical wait of around 5 mins.

Had a slightly rocky start to the trip as the ac/heating in the room was not working. We called to reception to try rectify the problem to which they responded that someone would come fix. We waited a few hours before going ourselves to reception where we were then offered a different room. Despite the problems at the start Sophie, a manger went above and beyond to resolve all issues. Experience went from 4-5 all thanks to Sophie.

Our trip to London was memorable. The hotel is clean, lobby smells nice, it is close to landmarks and the restaurant on the 12th floor has amazing views. Staff at the hotel are really helpful, especially Luiza in the Guest Services, that helped us make a plan for the day, and recommended we try the ice rink at the Battersea Power Station, which was just a few bus stops away. Breakfast was served in the first floor restaurant, with views of the Thames. Really pleased with the choice we've made, when choosing this hotel,

Great experience. We only booked for one night as we were seeing a show in London. The hotel team were really nice, quick and efficient. We’ve been selected guest of the day and we got our room upgraded with breakfast. I think this was a very nice and unexpected touch in a cold January day. :) The room was overlooking the river, it was super clean and well equipped. Would definitely come back again!

My brother, our wives, and I recently spent a fantastic night and two days at the Park Plaza Riverbank in London. This hotel was the perfect start to our Icelandic adventure! The location was ideal, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. But the real star of the show was the concierge, Jolian. He went above and beyond to make our short stay in London unforgettable. Airport Transfer Ace: Jolian arranged our taxi to the airport for our evening flight to Reykjavik. He was meticulous in ensuring the car could accommodate all our luggage and that it arrived promptly. No stress, no fuss – just excellent service! London in a Flash: With only a day and a half to explore London, we relied on Jolian's expertise. He curated a whirlwind itinerary that hit all the highlights. Thanks to his recommendations, we saw the must-sees and even managed to squeeze in the "Stranger Things" Broadway show! The Park Plaza Riverbank provided a comfortable and convenient base for our pre-Iceland trip. But it was Jolian's exceptional concierge service that truly elevated our experience. He ensured we maximized our limited time in London and departed for Iceland with wonderful memories. I highly recommend this hotel and be sure to ask for Jolian!
