The Ritz London

The Ritz may pride itself on tradition, but in 2025, its rigid and outdated dress code feels more like gatekeeping than true luxury. I was denied entry to the dining room for not wearing a tie and blazer, yet I saw guests in the tea room wearing sneakers. Even more absurdly, I was allowed into the cigar lounge, where I spent over £300 on cigars and drinks, with no issue. I’m 27, young, stylish, and confident—I don’t dress like my dad, nor should I have to in order to enjoy a luxury experience. Other top hotels like The Savoy and Claridge’s have modernized their dress codes to reflect true elegance and contemporary fashion, but The Ritz is stuck in the past. Instead of welcoming sophisticated, high-spending guests, they enforce arbitrary and outdated rules that add nothing to the experience. If you want a true luxury experience without unnecessary pretension, go elsewhere. The Ritz is out of touch, overrated, and long overdue for a reality check.

Second to none. Always a warm welcome upon arrival. You're escorted and seamlessly handed over to the next staff member; constantly being looked after. The hotel is magnificent. The rooms are beautiful, ornate, warm, spacious and comfortable (LOVE the soft pillows!). You want for nothing. The Rivoli bar is lively and decadent. The breakfast was delicious and you could eat and drink and much as you wanted. This is my favourite hotel in all the world.

Went for 1 night and the dinner dance and spent some time in the Rivoli bar. From checking in to checking out we had an absolutely amazing time with service from every member of staff that can only be described as friendly yet professional and perfect. So many personal and special touches that just made the whole occasion one to remember and talk about for a lifetime! The food and cocktails in the Rivoli bar were nothing short of breathtaking, and if you have it in mind to attend the evening dinner dance you are in for an amazing night. Live music, perfection, professional dancers routine by way of early entertainment whilst you eat, incredibly good and depicts everything you could imagine! Food, Chef John Williams and of course his team have at last been awarded 2 Michelin stars. Well deserved, it’s fantastic! And served by a passionate crew that just add to the occasion. All in all it’s one of the best nights you can have in London and if it’s quintessentially traditionally British you’re looking for, I doubt you will find better in the world! Book it, you won’t be disappointed!

Absolutely outstanding in every way. We booked to stay and to enjoy the live entertainment in the Ritz Restaurant. The food was excellent but it was the level of service that sets it apart. Everything in the hotel is perfect , in particular the way the make younger guests feel very welcome .

Our trip to the Ritz was to celebrate a special birthday. We enjoyed a fabulous afternoon tea. Brian was wonderful, he looked after us so well. An excellent member of staff. I’ve visited many times and love it every time. Look forward to Visiting again soon.
