The Rubens at the Palace is the closest you'll get to a sleepover with the Queen without a state visit invitation. The hotel is directly across from the royal residence on property that enjoys a colorful past – the Duke of Buckingham lived here in the 1600s, followed by an apothecary and a Court dressmaker. The Rubens, which was built in 1912, housed the Polish army during WWII and gave respite to exiled Charles de Gaulle. The hotel's decadent – and often equally colorful – rooms and suites are a comfortable home base in the epicenter of London.

My husband and I stayed here as part of our 35th anniversary trip. It was our first time in London, and I don’t think we could have picked a better place to stay. The hotel is in a great location, very walkable and close to the Victoria Station for longer trips. The hotel was everything we expected, from the warm, traditional architecture to the professional, courteous staff. Special shout out to Adam who would greet us by our name after being out all day. The hotel offers several dining options, and our room was spacious, very clean and had a view of The Royal Mews. We highly recommend this hotel!

It's a fine hotel if you want to stay in the touristy part of London--close to everything, including an overwhelming amount of tourists. Staff were great. Didn't eat at the hotel but there is a quaint tea and breakfast place a hundred hards away.

Lovely hotel with great staff and an exceptional concierge called Raj, who couldn't be more helpful or informed. The ambience is excellent as are the bars and restaurants, which are a pleasure to be in. The rooms are great and the location first class - hard to see how anyone could be dissappointed staying here...just great!

The Rubens Hotel is a great choice for a stay in London to visit all of the “must-see” landmarks and to engage in other experiences too. I have stayed at the Rubens exclusively over the past ten years. You can walk to Buckingham Palace, St. James Park, Westminster Abbey, Parliament and Churchill’s War Rooms, among other sites. This central location makes west London locations like The Design Museum and Kensington Palace easily accessible by taxi. You have easy walking access to quick meals on the go from M & S to finer dining all around. If you need something just ask. I’ve found staff, management and the concierge ready to make things happen. I got to experience a Premier League Soccer match at Stamford Bridge because I put out an inquiry. You shouldn’t expect large, American style hotel rooms but smaller, more boutique yet completely comfortable rooms to get rest and regroup. You will be pleasantly surprised by the Rubens experience once you get in the door and know that you have all London experiences at your disposal.

I just returned from an amazing 6 nights at The Rubens. My trip was for business and at the last minute, I had to bring my baby along. This worried me greatly, but thanks to the wonderful staff of the hotel, my week went off without a hitch. The staff couldn't have been any kinder, more helpful, or professional. From the moment we arrived, special attention was paid to the baby and any assistance I needed. There is no doubt that I will be returning to this hotel. It has won a special place in my heart.

Our package at the Rubens at the Palace let my mother and me live like a queen. From the flowers in the room, the beautiful suite, the daily high tea, the staff - everything was a deluxe vacation opportunity. My previous vacations to London pale in comparison to this experience.

I can't say enough about the amazing service at the hotel. Everyone was so friendly and helpful whenever we had questions or needed help. The concierge was wonderful and went out of his way to come check on us and see how our day our was turning out. It made us feel very welcome and almost like family! The room was very comfortable, the food in the bar was great, service was amazing. We'll stay here again!
