Located on the River Thames near Covent Garden, in the heart of the city's exciting theatre district, you will find The Savoy. With its central London location this hotel offers an amazing blend of restored Art Deco and Edwardian style. Featuring either English Edwardian or Art Deco designs, each room is as comfortable as it is elegant. Silk wall coverings, marble floors, and plush Italian linens are perfectly-lit by glass chandeliers from Murano, while large picture windows offer sweeping city and river views. Refresh yourself with an invigorating rain shower, or recline in your comfortable living space, soaking in the tranquil atmosphere of the hotel. At The Savoy you will enjoy the storied history and dynamic scenes of the city, with all the comforts and features of modern city living.

Every member of staff at the Savoy treat you like royalty! It’s an experience like no other. We were greeted by the lovely Tony and looked after by Michael passed onto the incredible Ben and then by Hannah (who has the biggest smile) and Ting who are simply marvellous. There are many hotels in London but there is only one like The Savoy. Already rebooked for twice next year!

Ugly black and brown decor in the lobby, and the all-tan stripped-down room looked like a two star hotel - a Days Inn, for example. The only good thing was the size of things - big tv, big bed, and big bath tub. However, I really thought the hotel was shockingly unattractive, and the staff was passive aggressive. For example, when we arrived at noon, asking them to hold our luggage, they VOLUNTEERED (we didnt ask) an early check-in. They said they would text us when the room was ready. About 90 minutes later, as we decided to go out for lunch, they noticed us and said the room was just undergoing inspection and would be ready shortly. We went out anyway. At 2:54 pm we finally received a text that the room was ready, but the text was rude. It said something like , "We are pleased have your room ready BEFORE the 3:00 check-in time." Well thanks for the six minutes, I guess. I do not know what their reason was for trying to keep us in the hotel for the extra three hours, but they twice shows us the jewelry store, so maybe that was it. We were more than halfway through our trip, and had eaten breakfast at several hotels, and we thought the breakfast in their River restaurant was below average for a luxury hotel, as most others had quite a bit of fresh fruit, including fresh berries and pastry laid out, and the Savoy did not. I will mention that the hotel lobby did have pink orchids and other light green flowers, but they were very hard to see (essentially invisible and thus wasted) against the black and dark brown walls and furniture. I couldn't believe what had happened to this once great hotel.

This Iconic hotel has been on my ‘wishlist’ for many years and this year I finally fulfilled my dream and it didn’t disappoint !! My experience at the Savoy was absolutely awesome from the moment I walked through the revolving doors to the day I left ( sadly after 8 nights)..The staff were friendly and always willing to help you in whatever capacity was required. My room was a Junior Suite with a river view no 516…and on entering the suite it was just magical. Well lit rooms with a warm welcoming ambience. Soft classical music playing on the radio was a nice touch. And of course the wonderful view of the Thames and its attractions….and at night the view was breathtaking!!! The bed was extremely comfortable with good sheets and pillows. There was a small bar fridge which is always handy to have and above that were shelves for the cups and glasses. A coffee pod machine was provided along with teabags. On the bedside tables were always carafes of fresh water. Housekeeping was daily and the rooms were always immaculate with plenty of fresh towels for the bathroom which was enormous. A bath and a seperate shower and toilet . The shower had plenty of room and the toilet had a bidet.. Beautiful Penhaligon’s Savoy Steam toiletries …Plus 2 generous sized walk in wardrobes with plenty of hanging and drawer space. There was a beautiful desk with drawers so plenty of working space . It was always a delight to walk back into this suite after a long day of sightseeing.. Unfortunately two of the restaurants were closed for refurbishment but, the Savoy Grill and the Beaufort Bar and restaurant were open plus of course the American Bar which was a great place to spend an hour or two.Breakfast was served in the Beaufort restaurant where there was plenty of choice for either Continental or cooked options. There was a lovely reading room where guests could have a quiet read of the paper or free tea and coffee .. A waiter was always on hand to assist you if you wanted something different.. The location of the Savoy in The Strand is very central with just a short walk to the Embankment which is a great way to stroll along the riverside. It’s within walking distance of Covent Garden, Trafalgar Square , Westminster and various other places of interest along the way.. Overall the Savoy for me was all I expected and more.. Would I stay there again??…. Absolutely!!

Myself and my wife checked in to the Savoy for the first time this October for our 2nd wedding anniversary. We were overwhelmed by the pure magic of the place. We were greeted by wonderful people at the door and reception. Room was stunning and my wife enjoyed a nice bath in the large tub! Our anniversary was recognised with lovely champagne. We had great drinks in the amarican bar and ate in Covent Garden. Such a fantastic location. We will most certainly be back next year!

This really is a fantastic historical hotel, i celebrated my 50th birthday at the Savoy grill, we had cocktails at the American bar, which was amazing. After our meal we had cocktails in the Beaufort bar, i didn't want to leave, but so happy to be returning on the 23rd November for a weekend stay. It's a surprise for my daughter, i can't wait to see the look on her face, when we pull up in our taxi. Hope the new Savoy lounge will be open in time, but we will still have a great stay if not.
