Designer Philippe Starck conceived St Martins Lane London as a surrealist wonderland viewed through the looking glass of classic British eccentric taste. Cheeky and daring with a touch decadent, the lobby and social spaces are signature Starck style. It’s fitting that the hotel is situated in the bustling theatre district in Covent Garden - it is pure drama. Just ask the garden gnomes; this is classic London with a seriously seductive twist. Floor-to-ceiling windows at St Martins Lane pull the cityscape into each guest room, offering a dramatic perspective on the energetic city below. The Tim Andreas of Banjo design rooms evoke a sense of spaciousness and luxury by using a mix of both naturally inspired and modern materials. The overall effect is an ethereal, yet sensuous experience.

Loved this hotel and especially its location. Very comfortable bedroom with very helpful staff. Surrounded by restaurants to suit all budgets. Piccadilly, Trafalgar Square a few minutes walk plus a lovely stroll by Hyde Park up the Mall to Buckingham Palace in well worth the experience. On the way back, visit Churchill's War Rooms - fascinating! This hotel is expensive, but out of season can be picked up at a very reasonable rate for central London. Book directly!

Stayed here Saturday night of the 4th of April 2025. On arrival, reception was very welcoming. We were early as we wanted to explore London. They said they could sort another room. But we thanked reception and just dumped our bags. We walked to trafalgar Square(5 mins) . Big Ben, houses of Parliament another 10 to 15 min walk. Along the Thames embankment to St Paul's. 30minutes. Room was very modern and a good size for a basic double. Excellent powerful shower( which is a must) slept well. Theatre show in the evening. Again, it's a great location. In the morning 30-minute walk to Buckingham Palace. On the way back, piccadilly circus, leceister square. Great suuny weekend in London at a lovely hotel.

Best experience ever!! Instantly felt greeted and welcomed. Staff was so so kind and attentive and Visar was amazing. The beds were also extremely comfortable! Loved staying here and will definitely be staying here in the future! 10/10 would recommend!

What happened to the breakfast buffet! As a regular the lovely breakfast buffet was a treat. Very much reduced it’s nothing special now. A real disappointment. Otherwise always great service and location perfect round the corner to Trafalgar Square

This was our third stay at St Martins Lane, and we recommended it as a base for family members celebrating a birthday, so we had 3 rooms. We actually stayed in the room pictured at the top of this page - wonderful! As always, the staff on the front desk were welcoming and helpful. Our room was really comfortable, i love the crisp white linens, and airy feel of the rooms. The shower was fantastic, and the toiletries are really lovely. Breakfast has definitely improved since our last stay. Cheeses and ham, really lovely smoked salmon, scrambled eggs, and fruit - great selection, but we went for the full breakfast, and every bit of it was tasty. We were all felt rather spoilt by the kind attention of the staff, and our nephew especially appreciated the birthday cake - with candle- at breakfast :). Many, many thanks for taking such good care of us. It's such a great base to get around London, we will definitely return.
