This is our third trip to the Taj and once again exceptional accommodation, service and food. The rooms are soooo good, we were upgraded to a deluxe one bedroom suite which was fantastic in every way. The beds are incredibly comfortable, the lounge, kitchen and bathroom amazing. So much space and I love having a separate kitchen. The staff cannot do enough and are so warm and friendly as well as professional. We ate at House of Ming and the food was just so good, I particularly recommend the soft shell crab. Our absolute favourite London hotel.

The Taj 51 is a great place to stay in London. The staff is so friendly and kind. The appartments are amazing. The bed is wonderfull. The breakfast is so good! Also the area is very good, near to Buckingham Palace and other hot spots in London. We will come back again and then stay longer! This is what you want. Such a great hospitality, excellent!!

The employees at the Taj always make their guests feel welcome. The rooms are spacious, and the in suite full kitchen complete with a washer/dryer combo was much appreciated. Communications regarding room service was accurate, and their afternoon tea is the best London has to offer.

Here’s your updated review: I recently stayed at The Taj London on the 10th–11th of January, and while there were some positives, there were also a few areas where the hotel fell short. Pre-Arrival Experience: Before my stay, I called the hotel to clarify a few details, but there was an incessant bleeping noise in the background. The staff member on the phone assured me it would go away and asked me to continue speaking, but it wasn’t a great first impression. Check-In and Upgrade: Once I arrived, the staff were excellent—friendly and attentive. We were even upgraded, which was a wonderful surprise and a great start to our stay. Breakfast Experience: Unfortunately, breakfast was a letdown. I ordered a waffle, and honestly, I was shocked they charge £17 for it. The quality did not match the price. I’ll be uploading a picture of both the menu and the food to TripAdvisor for reference. Room Comfort: The rooms were uncomfortably cold. I tried adjusting the thermostat, but it made no noticeable difference, which was disappointing during a winter stay. Post-Stay Bag Storage: The staff kindly allowed us to store our bags after check-out, which was very thoughtful. However, they were placed near a hot heater, and I didn’t realize until later that my chocolates and lipsticks had melted. My bag was also very warm—something that could be a disaster for guests with designer items. I imagine this was a genuine mistake, but it’s worth noting for future guests. Overall: I’ve heard great things about this hotel from my family, who stayed a couple of years ago, but after comparing our experiences, it seems they’ve let themselves down. While the staff were fantastic and the upgrade was appreciated, the operational issues and disappointing breakfast make me unsure if I’d consider this a must-stay. With some improvements, it could match the high standards it once had.

"I would definitely stay here again." "They have given us so many things!" My sister, my niece, and I traveled from New York to London in early January as a post Christmas shopping/theater trip. We were looking for a property that would accommodate the three of us; we preferred a suite set up so that we could stay together comfortably. Taj51 Buckingham Gate was the perfect answer. The hotel management and staff could not have been nicer or more accommodating during our stay. They not only anticipated our needs (eg late checkout), but they also surprised us with delights along the way (welcome sweets and on our last night, a delicious birthday cake from my sister that arrived without request). The suite was clean and comfortable, well-appointed, and had the amenities and service that you would expect. We had stayed here before several years ago. My sister and I have also stayed at Taj properties in Delhi and Sri Lanka. We are fans. We look forward to recommending to others. And, we will be returning. It is a wonderful place when traveling with family.

“Our stay at 51 Buckingham Gate was almost a perfect experience! What a lovely and well-located property. We are sorry we did not purchase two of these packages from Luxury Link so we could spend more time there.”
