Great Scotland Yard Hotel London

Lovely hotel, fantastic location loads of Character. Clean, comfortable, staff very helpful, basic room very nice, fantastic bathroom and amenities, great breakfast. Only one negative and this appears to be a common thing in hotels and restaurants/bars adding 15% service charge without telling us, this happened in the bar so we just paid it (even though the barman got the wrong order and I ordered from bar and took drinks to our table so no real service element here. They asked for an additional payment on checkout 'for the team' but in fairness they did say optional. Apart from that great stay and looking at returning next time in London.

I had a great experience staying 7 days at the Great Scotland Yard Hotel. The hotel room is quite clean and cozy, and my partner and I both enjoyed the bed and the pillows very much. The only downside I can think of is that the bathroom of my room didn't have a functional wall outlet for the hairdryer, so I had to use it in the bedroom everyday. The staff has also been quite friendly from the day we checked in to when we checked out (e.g., on getting a taxi to LHR, etc.). Moreover, as a Hyatt Globalist, I was offered complimentary breakfast--- which was awesome!! The hotel provided a great diversity of selections on the menu and in the buffet, and I definitely enjoyed having it everyday.

The staff and facilities are so beautiful and kind. The location is perfect for tourists! My family adored our stay. I would stay here in a heartbeat again. We had a grandma, our toddler and ourselves. We needed the extra room and they were so kind to upgrade us, without us knowing! We got to stay in the incomparable townhouse! It was a ton of stairs; nothing my bottom did not need :) But my toddler got to sleep better in her own room alone and grandma also got her own room. It really was such a dream. We cannot wait to come back!

The lack of effort to provide basic historical context to guests is unacceptable for a property of this caliber. As someone who chose the Great Scotland Yard Hotel because of its historic status, I was incredibly disappointed that I would have to pay even more for a tour.

I wished we could have stayed longer than just two nights. The location is excellent! The bed was amazing. The room was spotless and the shower was divine. We had drinks in the bar and had great service. The bartenders are skilled bartenders - appear to have years of training. All of the staff were extremely helpful.
