A 19th-century beauty meets the London of today: that’s what you’ll find at Kimpton Fitzroy London Hotel. From the outside, the landmark building, which occupies a full block along the eastern side of Russell Square in Bloomsbury, looks every bit the part of grande dame. Inside, though, contemporary interiors beckon the discerning traveler to settle in and stay a while—Negroni (or two) in hand. Live like a Londoner on Russell Square. With one foot in the city’s past and another in its present, our Bloomsbury location combines British creative heritage with modern amenities.Presiding gracefully over Russell Square, with a stylish restaurant, Champagne and afternoon tea lounge, a cafe, destination cocktail bar and gym, our 334-room hotel turns every event into a memorable occasion. With a nod to 20s glamour and British irreverence, such as the Kit Miles cushions depicting our resident dragon, Lucky George, each luxuriously styled bedroom by Tara Bernerd & Partners beautifully reflects the rich history of our iconic hotel. Uniquely Kimpton in-room extras include a mug featuring George the dragon and yoga mat to help you feel at home.

What a fabulous bar! The bartender Gregory was simply outstanding. A mixologist if there ever was one. Can’t wait to come back! Very knowledgeable about bourbon which I appreciated. Mixes a great cocktail and Greta conversation. Glad to have found this place.

I love going back to this hotel and have been there more than 4 times, and it never fails to impress. Located just around the corner from Russell Square underground station, it is quick and easy to get to. Covent Garden is a nice 15 minute stroll away, or use the underground. The staff at reception are always welcoming and make you feel at home. The decor inside the hotel is fantastic, so take time to explore. Make sure that you go and see Lucky George, located on the stairway on the 2nd floor. He is the twin to another dragon that was lost on the Titanic. Breakfast is delicious.

The only place I’ll stay in London. 5 star service from all the staff. Carlos on the front desk was super helpful this trip, as was Wesley the door man, Frank, Maria and all the other front of house staff. The Kimpton always look after me, like no other hotel I’ve been to. The housekeeping staff do a first rate job, unobtrusive and good attention to detail. Great location and easy to get all round London from here. Thank you :)

I started in the bar (the one at the front to the right of the entrance, not the one in back. There are two bars back-to-back and the bartenders can pass through a curtain to get from one to the other). I had a gin martini and it was well-made. Staff is personable and attentive without hovering. I moved on to dinner in the brasserie and had filet mignon cooked perfectly with Greek salad (tomatoes and feta cheese). The wine menu by the glass, at least red wine for a steak, was somewhat limited but the Argentina malbec I had was sufficient. The wine list by the bottle is extensive.

What an amazing getaway! We stayed at the Kimpton in December and absolutely loved our time there. We received a birthday surprise (cake and balloon) from the Guest Relations team, then had the pleasure of meeting Jack P, who organised the cake for us. Every time we crossed paths with Jack he gave us his full attention and was always curious about what we had gotten up to that day or had planned for the next. He really made us feel like home! Amazing property, location and service - what more can you ask for!
