This was my second stay at this hotel. I love everything about it. The architecture, the views to the service, the room size and everything else. Breakfast was amazing. The spa/pool great. We had drinks and dinner in Gong which was also fabulous. The best of all is the staff. They are extremely accommodating and friendly. Wherever you go, you will find somebody who can help you. You will have fabulous views from each room. Room size is perfect. You are close to the London Bridge train station and in walking distance to the Tower bridge. I highly recommend the hotel and I will definitely be back.

I have stayed in many 5 star hotels, but the Shanghai-La at The Shard was outstanding! From the minute we arrived, until we left, the service we received from everyone in the hotel (but especially Ting) was exceptional. The views…. The service….. The heated toilet seats…..(with views)

Absolutely faultless experience and well worthy of 5 stars. We stayed here as a couple and couldn’t be happier, everything was as expected and to the high standard you’d expect when spending over £1000 a night. Very very good team, respectful, polite, friendly and attentive. The hotels WhatsApp system is very good and if there was anything we needed it was brought speedily. View is as to be expected (very good) especially around and after sunset. Room was to a high standard, very clean. Bathroom very nice with many amenities and a good size bath & shower. Bed was comfortable, as were pillows. We didn’t have breakfast as we opted to explore Borough Market instead but we did have dinner at TING which was excellent. The 35th floor can get a little busy with check ins, people trying to use the second set of lifts to the rooms and restaurant goers but staff deal with people quickly and get them were they need to go. Lifts are amazing and crazy fast! Very smooth, no noise, no movement. As a lift engineer I was impressed. As a whole, very happy with our experience and will definitely be booking again. 5 STARS!

We had a wonderful stay, the team were amazing and super friendly, however the hotel is 10 years old now and it looks a little like it. Rooms are well kept mostly, but aren’t perfect (which you expect for £1k per night), probably needs some money spending. The view is stunning, we opted for a bath with a view for an extra £100. It added to the occasion so probably worth it. Jo loves products we’re good, but we’re not replaced on turndown so asked for more. They operate a whatsapp service which works well and managed to get us mostly everything we need. As it is up the shard, there are lots of people constantly milling around, it feels constantly busy everywhere you go in the hotel. Breakfast was possibly the lowest quality we have seen in London at this price point and star rating. Buffet full english and a well appointed continental offering. We used the leisure facilities and as with everything else it was super busy and the team in there did a great job at keeping on top of it all. Stone and metal work around pool could do with some maintenance attention. Will we stay again, probably not, it was great as a one off, but I think you are mostly paying for the view.
