Not my first dinner and not my first review of this location either. The good news is that it is as good or better than ever. Started with a Bourbon Cocktail of course. We don’t need to look at a menu as we came here for The Hot Brown, an open faced turkey dinner in the place it was conceived in the 1920s. I have eaten the same thing here for 25 years at least twice a year and it is always followed up with some Derby Pie or STRIP-TEASE a visual flaming desert. Service here is always the best and this year Rob E. made the dinning experience even better as 5 PM not too busy and he had time to talk with us. If you are reading this and you are looking for THE VOICE to do voice overs, look him up at the hotel and offer him a side job. Once you talk with him you will know why to offer him the job. Looking forward to dinning here next year with the kids and grandkids as the grandkids have learned to enjoy dinning out and have given up Happy Meals.

The staff was wonderful. Since the moment we walked in till the moment we checked out it was a great experience. The rooms where good bed was clean and comfortable. The robes were just chef's kiss. All the staff goes out of their way to make you feel at home.

I am a travel agent here with group now. Would NOT recommend this hotel if you have any health issues. The staff are very nice and the hotel has history but the bed must be from the 1800s (the most uncomfortable hotel bed I have ever slept in, actually slept on the floor) and the room has a horrible mildew smell. Had to leave suitcase closed the whole trip so people wouldn't think I smelled like mildew! Would stay at other hotel in the city if you visit.

Beautiful hotel - stopped in for lunch and had to try the Hot Brown. Worth the hype. For those that are turned off by the cheese sauce, it is yummy and rich. The tomato helps thru it - so for those of you that don’t like tomatoes, sorry! But you can order it without!

This is a historic hotel and comes with all the charms and few drawbacks. I t is amazing how good the water is in Louisville. The service is great and has a great little bar for the mint julep or Manhattan fan. Just blocks from all the action of New downtown. The bellman were very helpful in local advice and helping set up transport. The famous Hot Brown from Kentucky Derby fame was invented here and served daily !
