Reviews for The Brown Hotel

Comfortable historic hotel with good service

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

We enjoyed our stay at this historic hotel. The rooms are good sized with generous bathrooms. The staff were all helpful during our stay. We ate breakfast and had dinner one night in the lobby bar. Note: the main restaurant is under renovation. Service was good at each. It it is long walk to Whiskey row (especially in the rain). We took a Lyft (about $11). There is a fast casual place with pizza and beer called Noble Funk that is within walking distance.

A charming stay at The Brown Hotel

I had a really great stay at the Brown Hotel. The charm of the old south really comes through the historic hallways and public spaces. The bed could have been updated and maybe some more plugs in the rooms but everything was well maintained and offered a comfortable business stay. The food and drink as well as shopping on site was pretty great.

Warm and friendly historic hotel with inviting ambience, charm and great customer service. My room was charmingly decorated, well appointed and most of all my bed was very comfy. The food was delicious and our waiter was very attentive and personable. Meandering around the levels I found a lovely nook upstairs overlooking the dining area where I was able to simply sit, regroup and read a book. Definitely try their version of an Old Fashioned - it's delicious! Highly recommend this hotel.

We cannot express how much we enjoy staying at The Brown hotel. The service is above 5 stars and just the entire experience. Please visit James H. at the hotel bar. He knows all about Bourbons and such a really nice person. We also enjoy having brunch at the hotel and it is always so delicious. The. Niebrugge’s

Never Disappointed in 25 Plus Years

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

Not my first dinner and not my first review of this location either. The good news is that it is as good or better than ever. Started with a Bourbon Cocktail of course. We don’t need to look at a menu as we came here for The Hot Brown, an open faced turkey dinner in the place it was conceived in the 1920s. I have eaten the same thing here for 25 years at least twice a year and it is always followed up with some Derby Pie or STRIP-TEASE a visual flaming desert. Service here is always the best and this year Rob E. made the dinning experience even better as 5 PM not too busy and he had time to talk with us. If you are reading this and you are looking for THE VOICE to do voice overs, look him up at the hotel and offer him a side job. Once you talk with him you will know why to offer him the job. Looking forward to dinning here next year with the kids and grandkids as the grandkids have learned to enjoy dinning out and have given up Happy Meals.
