The Brown is a beautiful old hotel that has been nicely updated. The room was large, the bed comfortable, the staff friendly and helpful. Actually more than helpful. The restaurant was excellent and very busy. The only problem was with the phone in the room. Apparently, the front desk and room service buttons are not functional. Didn’t find thin out until I wasted 1/2 an hour and finally went to the desk and asked about it.

Old....very old. For the cost, I do not think I will return. The furniture was not in great shape, and a significant portion of the hotel's carpet appeared dirty. Location was OK, pretty close to everything. We only had breakfast in the restaurant, and it was good, with some affordable options.

From the moment you check in with Alex at the front desk to the time you are dropped off by the hotel shuttle back at the airport, you will enjoy unparalleled service. We were in town for a graduation and enjoyed the free airport shuttle. The hotel location was close to the action, but very quiet. The lobby has a beautiful interior and is a great place for a meal or just a drink while listening to the piano. Rooms are classic and spacious. The food and service were outstanding. Make sure to stop in the boutique on the first floor for creative specialties, from Derby memorabilia to delicious bourbon balls. You are sure to find something of interest and very friendly staff. Try the famous Hot Brown or the weekend brunch. Louise the manager and her team, including Gamila and Wini, will take great care of you while you enjoy a delicious meal. If you’re looking for a place where old-world charm meets top-notch service, The Brown Hotel fits the bill. When it comes to hotels in Louisville, we won’t stay anywhere else.

My husband and I dined at the 2nd floor restaurant. We had the seafood soup and hot brown. Both were delicious and served hot. Our server was Dane and he was excellent. We enjoyed talking with him and he had just the right amount of conversation at the appropriate times during our dining experience. Dane was professional, courteous, and attentive. We would enjoy having Dane serve us again.

Love the beauty and charm of this hotel. We were in town for an event next door at the theater and this hotel made that so convenient. The customer service experienced was A+, from every employee exchange I had. Check-in, concierge delivery, and Valet (Jason). I would absolutely stay here again!
